Kleen-Bore Multi Sect All Cal Cleaning Rod

Bought two sets as gifts. Upon opening the package, noticed quickly that something was wrong. One of the cases was split open on both ends to the point of rendering it useless. Can only speculate as to what happened - looks as though the rods have been handled and reinserted in to the case upside down. The cases are tapered, requiring to insert the rods with the handles towards the top. In this case, the handle of the rod was inserted first, putting stress on the narrowest end. Also, the top flap is torn and is barely attached to the rest of the case. Wish someone have just paid a bit of attention when shipping these out.Guess only one of these is going to it's intended party.

The handle, adapter (end) rod, and end loop seem to be of a different manufacture than the middle section rods. The rods in the middle section are well machined and seem to be finished with a polished blueing. The other pieces seem to be rough and finished with a phosphate (parkerized) coat. The end loop that holds patches to run through the bore has a rough edge on the tip, and the handle piece has rough machining on the flat section. The rods all line up well and the threads work smooth. I'll have to file down the rough parts before using this cleaning rod.

Great product. I bought this one to replace one just like it that I bought at a gun show 30+ years ago for about 1/3 the price. I broke one section of rod abusing it and had to replace it. If this one lasts as long as the first, I'll be almost 90 years old before I have to replace again!!

This is just like my old Army cleaning kit, functional and compact. It works for both rifles and pistols. Every person owning a handgun or rifle should have one. For most people it's the only one you'll ever need. I even use it to polish the throat of my precision rifle.
