The Roborock Saros Z70 sounds impressive on paper, but in practice it’s not ready for prime time. The OmniGrip arm is more frustrating than helpful. It failed to pick up numerous items, got stuck trying, and drained the battery until the robot was completely dead. I literally had to pry a sock out of its cold, robotic claw. The vacuuming performance is actually worse than earlier Roborock models, and cleaning the unit afterward is even more of a hassle. The mopping feature is even more disappointing—it basically drags dirt around instead of doing any real cleaning. There are a few positives. The shorter height is a big win, finally letting it get under furniture where other robot vacuums couldn’t reach. Obstacle avoidance is excellent, and the base unit works well (though it’s pretty loud when drying or sucking up debris). The ability to snap pictures of your pets is funny, though it’ll likely scare them before you get a cute photo. The app, however, is the true star—probably the best in the business for robot vacuums. Voice control isn’t very useful unless you’re immobile, since it’s much easier just to use the app. As for the OmniGrip arm, I wish they had spent more time refining it instead of rushing it out as a gimmick. Overall, this product is overpriced for what it delivers. Unless you’re buying it just for the app and obstacle avoidance, I wouldn’t recommend it.

We’ve had this for 6 months now and use each day. We have a large house and found we need three so we bought a second of this exact model and a third Roborock without the arm feature. Two of these works great and have little issue. Couple of things to note: If you have long haired dogs you absolutely need to clean the sensors, roller balls and moveable parts often. That would be the same for any vacuum though. It’s not a hands off appliance. I attend to them almost daily. The rollerballs at the front can be difficult to get on and off and Roborock do not appear to provide a replacement part for that even on their website. They gather the aforementioned hair easily. I’ve emailed requesting to purchase stairs as they become loose with frequent cleaning. Roborock CD has NOT responded. Disappointing. We did have an issue with the arm coming out and not going back in. The result of that required sending the unit back in for repair which took approximately two weeks. They were responsive to that issue. I’m glad we had a second unit we could swap from a less trafficked area of our home. The noise level is much better than most of the competitors and we have tried a few. It’s less noisy them most traditional vacuums by far. It’s great at getting dust and hair under most furniture but I still have to get my vacuum out occasionally to finish the job in tighter areas around chair legs, etc. This would happen with any robot vacuum. The wet mopping feature is where this robot does the best job. Our dogs come in and out and eat in a tiled area. I used to clean that area everyday with a steam mop. Now I run this unit each night and it’s made a huge difference in the cleanliness of our floor. The dirty water tells me everything I need to know about what it’s picking up and how well it works. Big time saver. The sensors work great at avoiding even small items like dog toys. I noticed it doesn’t bang surfaces the way our other brand robot vacuum did. So far, 6 months in, I’m hoping for our investment this will last as I enjoy waking up to clean floors. The area that it cleans at night is far from our bedroom so we don’t hear it. These units are definitely on the pricier side and since we need three I expect them to last years. I hope their customer service improves and they provide more parts. Luckily I found a roller ball here on Amazon from another vendor that fit. Overall, I have recommended this to several friends and would likely purchase again but hope to not need to for a long time.

I have owned an iRobot S9 and its side-kick the iRobot Brava Jet M6 for over 5 years. This Roborock Saros Z70 replaces them both and does MUCH BETTER work. I've only had it a few days so I don't know about reliability, but so far it has been working awesome. This is a BIG upgrade from the S9 and M6! The app is much easier to use than the iRobot app. The Z70 auto-scanned the rooms and had them mapped within minutes. No bumping into things to map, it just looked around. I then updated the map by dividing it into rooms and naming them so I can clean one at a time. Easy. After the first cleanings I tweaked the map to get the room dividers just right. It was so cool watching the Z70 find its way around without bumping into things or getting confused! Super cool that now I can send it in to clean an un-tidy room because it will see and work around random things on the floor instead of just trying to eat them and jam. I put a slipper in the way just to watch the little arm come out, pick it up, and put it away. Per Roborock it currently will only pick up a slipper, a sock, or a ball of paper but they say soon it will pick up more kinds of things. Cool to watch its little mop swing out to wipe exactly up to the edges and swing up out of the way when on carpet or a rug. Way cool that it washes its own little mops when done, and dries them too! The dirty water tank on the base showed that the mops were really cleaning, not just smearing on shine for show. Cool that I don't have to fill the mop fluid, it just fills itself at the base before going out and adds the shine fluid too. I got the official Roborock floor cleaning solution in the 16 oz bottle. The base tank for the fluid held the entire 16 oz so it was dump in, toss the bottle, done. This machine is very quiet. It turns up the vacuum power some when on rugs but still not nearly as noisy as the S9 was. It would be awesome if an American company created this, but the Chinese have sure done a great job on it. I asked Grok about security and he said all the right things regarding that. He said the info about my home is kept on-board the machine, not sent to the cloud unless I choose to place it in the cloud. He said the right things about encryption and such stuff. Sorry to hear iRobot announced bankruptcy. Hearing that is what prompted me to get this. Having the Z70 makes me understand why - iRobot was probably not going to be able to compete against this.

It is an amazing robot vacuum. It's vacuum and mopping capabilities are excellent. The robot arm is a useful addition. But, sometimes it tries to pick up things that are to heavy. It had issues with fallen orchid flower, It was sticky and stuck to the robot arm. I really love remote control feature, you can drive it with FPV video stream. You can even remote control the arm! It is possible to video call via this robot vacuum! It has feature that helps find you pet. In my opinion, It is useful tool and a cool toy.

First off, I was super optimistic about this product when I first opened the package and turned it on. The interface is intuitive and well designed, the setup is a breeze, and the packaging is excellent. After setup, the vacuum quickly charged at its base, and then did a quick floor mapping of the house. Very impressive compared to other robot vacuums I've tried in the past. Now, onto the downside. After mapping, I sent it on its first quick run. After 15 minutes I heard an error, thinking it had maybe got stuck on something. "Error 4, cliff sensor error" Odd, as I don't have any cliff like edges. I followed the instructions to clean the sensors, same error. Factory reset the device, same error. Search online, finding no additional details, and numerous other individuals with the same error, with no active resolution other than send the device in to get a replacement. This was 15 minutes in on a brand new device. Once the error occurred, the device was 100% unusable. No option to disable or lower sensitivity and allow for cleaning, just a completely bricked device.
