Easy to attach and operate
The mic works well with my Canon EOS T3i. I'm getting some slight humming noise during recordings, but it may actually be in the camera. I'll update this review after I get more experience with it.

Pleasantly surprised
Pleasantly surprised by the performance in sound quality, build quality and design.I've been using a Rode Videomic Pro for a while, which despite somehow being a staple, I've never been too pleased with. One of the things I really hated about the Rode is the fact that it requires a 9v battery - as such, I have a need to carry an additional battery with me because I never know when that thing is going to be depleted - changing it every few shoots is a poor solution as it gets extremely costly and wasteful. The thing that attracted me to this Meike mic is that it takes a single AAA battery. This way, I can recharge my AAA eneloops before a shoot and always know that my power is full.Having been impressed with other Meike products, I decided to give this one a shot. I actually find the sound quality on this thing to be quite a bit better than the Rode. The design is also more efficacious - there are none of those silly rubber bands that easily snap off - this one is secure yet sound isolating. It's also sleeker and of a superior build quality. It's amazing to me that brand name mics are charging prices many times than mics like the Meike. Very pleasantly surprised - at such a low price, it's a steal.

Not very successful product, add some money for better quality
I bought the microphone about two months ago. Good build quality but the product itself is not very successful. The sound quality is not better than the quality of the camera's internal microphone. Records a lot of background noise. Not very successful.

Wow!!!! Sound Quality kicks Ass at that Price!!!!
Amazing Price to Quality ratio. For under $40 you get a battery powered, very light weight camera Microphone that if your creative you can place it on a pole if your main boom mic is damage or stops working. I’m putting it through it’s paces and for the price it’s a must have in your bag especially for a back up.Pros: Price!!! Very Good Sound Quality based on that amazing $39.99 price tag. Light weight, Battery powered (I love powered mics. They have their uses) and Rear adjustment panel😍 (Not found on mics at this price point.Cons: I wish the mic jack cable was detachable in cases where your cord develops a short you can easily swap it out for a cheap new cable. The build is extremely plastic-ie but that being said the plastic makes it extremely light weight.

Great Mic for the Money!
I took this mic out and used it in nature with the roar of the mighty Niagara River Gorge below. This mic picked up the sound of the rapids very naturally and with a nice amount of bottom end. When I used the roll-off switch, it did a good job of cutting out the satisfying low end, and the 10db gain also works well when needed. Before this, I was happy with my Rode Micro, but after comparing it to the Meike powered mic, I wouldn't hesitate using this as a boom mic for dialogue in one-man-band situations and use it as my primary mic when going without a sound man. It has an effective unidirectional pick-up pattern to filter out unwanted behind and side noise as well. Good value!

High level of background white noise
This thing has a lot of background "hiss" aka white noise when operating, which you might not notice in noisy outdoor setting (like a kids soccer game or something) but which you will notice if you're shooting indoors in a quiet environment if you're shooting a youtube video or something. Since that's what I was doing, I'm returning it.When you turn on the +10dB switch the noise gets a lot worse, as you would expect, but the sound you're recording also gets substantially louder, so if all you're trying to do is pick up loud noises in a noisy outdoor setting (i.e. not trying to pick up the chirping of a bird 50 feet away in a silent meadow) then you're probably okay.

MK-MP2 Outperforms
Bought this to pair most immediately with an iPad Pro (will use for DSLR in the near future) as I needed a second iPad + microphone set up (there are some cool USB-C adapters to be able to use external microphones). My "other" microphone is from a well-known major brand. This little guy outperforms. Using both on the +10dB gain, the sound is louder and as, if not more clear on the Meike. It weighs a little less to boot. Build quality is quite similar to the other brand. For the money, so far it's a great deal. Looks like this will be my top mic when I get back to video with my A7R IV.

Affordable, easy to use Microphone for your camera!
SUPER easy to use Microphone. I appreciate that it uses a AAA battery instead of others that require a 9-volt. I ALWAYS have AAA's laying around!Sound quality is great for this price range - even for microphones twice as expensive, so a good bang for your buck.Several easy switches to boost signal, low-end cutoff, and power.Sits nicely on top of my mirrorless cameras, without a lot of added weight - it's very light and easy to balance on a gimbal. What more do you need? For 435, it's a great affordable option for vloggers, youtubers, and general audio off a camera. Get one and get filming!
