Whole Foods Market, Basil Pesto, 6.5 Ounce

I love this pesto . . . fantastically delicious and very easy to poor off some of the oil (if that's important to you) as it rises to the top. However, twice now the caps were loose leaking oil everywhere. They were wrapped well in bubble wrap but should have been contained in a smaller box as they flew all over the large box they were in. I will be keeping them as the tops weren't off, just loose.

It's a bit sweet for Pesto, in my opinion. Nevertheless, very delicious and ingredients are good. It goes well with pasta and I love spreading it onto sandwiches.

Toss it with noodles, spread it on a sandwich, swirl it into eggs, or spoon it directly onto roasted vegetables and suddenly everything tastes intentional. The flavor balance is where this shines. Not exactly what I expected. I like to taste the olive oil, parmesan, and the basil. This thing is all about the basil. And too salty, at least for me. Homemade is much better, IMHO.

I'm so glad I found this online! Living in a small town means there's no Whole Foods anywhere near me, so when I discovered I could order this basil pesto on Amazon, I was honestly thrilled. Finally, I can get quality pesto without driving an hours to the city! The fresh product only stays good for a couple weeks after opening, which is actually a good sign since quality ingredients tend to go bad quicker. The packaging was great – no bottle leakage at all. I'll definitely be buying this again!

I am very pleased with this 365 Basil Pesto. I find it pairs well with Jovial GF brown rice capellini pasta . This is a fairly mild pesto and not comparable to home or in-store fresh made pesto. This is my pesto of convenience . While I occasionally have a red sauce I prefer a good pesto. As pasta is a meal of convenience I usually get my pesto from a jar and have been very pleased with this store brand. A good balance of convenience, quality and price in my opinion. I get local fresh ground romano cheese to top off my pasta and thaw cooked shrimp I keep in my freezer to add protein. If I’ve not been out shopping and want to have a nice dinner from mostly staples this is a very satisfying part of a great pasta dinner. Because I use GF pasta that’s the basis of my experience. If you are using non-GF pasta this may pair differently and perhaps not as well. FYI! This is great for me. I’m giving this convenient pesto 5 stars. I think it’s a convenient good pesto option for GF pasta and I keep a couple jars in my pantry.
