Great little sharpener. I bought this to sharpen my sewing scissors and it does a good job. I am left handed so my shears are left handed as well. Where I am frustrated is that Sharpal CS told me that this would indeed sharpen left handed shears and that their instruction manual included information on how to set it up for the this use. Wrong. There is no reference at all for left handed items. The blades on most left handed shears are completely reversed and do not mount on the unit as do right handed shears. I worked out a solution but it would really be helpful if they would update their on line info and videos as well as their manual to actually show the details.

First impression, WOW; second impression, WOWSERS. Folks, it is true, you do get what you pay for! Yes, this thing is expensive, however, if you are serious about sharpening scissors, AND ONLY SCISSORS AND GARDEN TOOLS WITH THIS UNIT, you will NOT be disappointed. It is a very high quality product, appears to be very durable, even though I did purchase an extra set of sharpening stones (I have a lot of scissors and other tools to sharpen). There are hundreds of products on the market for this purpose, and many are easier to use, however, if you want a professional level of sharpness on your scissors or garden tools, buy this unit. It becomes easy to use and works very well indeed, once you TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN TO USE IT CORRECTLY; you will be very satisfied with the results. Period.

When this first arrived and I unboxed it and read the instructions I felt cheated. First, they looked incredibly complicated. Second, they related only to scissors, and I expected to use it on garden tools and so on. Doh! As I assembled it I realised it's actually very simple, and very clever. I sharpened a pair of scissors in a minute. And then I took it down into my workshop, and disassembled some hedge shears, figured out how to use the sharpener on them and in 5 minutes I made them almost as sharp as when I first bought them. 20 minutes later I had a second pair of shears and a branch-lopper working better than they have for a long time. So this little device (and it looks too small to work on these garden tools), has already paid for itself by saving me buying three new garden tools. And I have some more to tackle yet as well. Only negative comment - the instructions regarding blade angle are unnecessarily complex. Just lay the tool on your blade and work out the angle you need. Take a couple of swipes on the blade and you'll quickly see if it needs adjustment, which is easy as... Very happy customer.

I absolutely love this system. It's solid, easy to use, and just works flawlessly. I've sharepened several pairs of scissors - everything from small electrician's scissors to large dress maker's shears and gardening shears. It easily accomodates all of them. The clamp is great, the abrasives are great, and the base is great. I wish this system packed up into a case for neat and tidy storage. That would be an improvement, and it's something I'd pay for. But it's not strictly necessary and I don't really expect it, so I'm not taking any stars away.

Only used once on shop scissors it worked ok. I need to try it on kitchen knives. I made a larger base with clamps so it doesn’t move around.

Pros: Does sharpen pretty good so far. Is able to just be set on a table. Cons: Kind of bulky. Not really convenient for those of us who do not have a good location to keep it fully assembled. Requires a bit of assembly that is a tad bit tedious. Comments: Seems to require some kind of protractor for getting the angles right.

I am losing my vision and needing to help me with my daily tasks this is a big game changer. Value of money and ease of use is great. I highly recommend this

It does an excellent job on my sewing shears. Just what I was looking for.

Funktioniert super, ist leicht zu verwenden und wirkt stabil genug um lang zu halten. Viel mehr gibt es nicht zu sagen.

Prima toestel. Kan wel niet vinden waar ik de vijlen apart moet bestellen. Anders zou ik er nog twee reserve willen.

For us, who are handling a small sharpener shop, it is excellent to finish not conventional scissors in a proper and fast way.
