The New Manners & Customs of Bible Times

If you’re interested in knowing what things were like historically during Bible times, this book is excellent. The hardback is nice; the print is not small. The pictures and illustrations are very good. The paper is of good quality; the maps are helpful and interesting, and the scope of what is included is impressive. I primarily bought this book to teach Bible study, but find that it is interesting all on its own. I was a little leery about spending the money, but feel that it was an excellent addition to my library, and worth the investment. Very pleased.

Full of illustrations, photographs and, most importantly, rich but concise descriptions of what life was like during Biblical times. The descriptions have Bible references which, in many cases, suddenly make the passages make sense. This is not a deep nor comprehensive work of scholarship, but rather an easy to read, enriching supplement to routine Bible study. Virtually every time I sit down to casually read it, I find myself grabbing my Bible and making annotations that give the passages more depth and clarity.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Easy to read with lots of interesting information.

I was made aware of and bought this book after watching Priscilla Shirer recommend it in a Kingdom Summit class she gave to other Bible teachers. I am SO glad I bought this. She is right, it is a fabulous reference to have on your shelf. Whether you are a Bible teacher or not, this book is FULL of information to help you gain a better insight into the lives and times of God’s people.

A wonderful book that helps one understand the references the Bible uses. Knowing the cultural context of the scripture really helped me understand what the Word is trying to tell me. I highly recommend this fabulous book.

Lots of pictures and broken up in understandable categories. I am looking forward to reading the entire book and know that it will be very helpful as I deep dive into the bible!

This is a very good book for personal as well as Scripture Study class. Every teacher should get a copy.
