Good Afternoon! You will need four 36qt bags along with four 36qt bags of the Bioshot for a self sustaining bioactive soil. I hope this helps! Thank you, -Caroline

Thank you for your question! You do not have to have a Bioactive enclosure to use our substrates. Our substrates will work well in a Naturalistic enclosure as long as the substrate is changed on a regular schedule (at least every 2-3 months) and spot cleaned in the meantime. I hope this helps!
