Ok
Well my first breathalyser did not work (the unit suggested I was well under the limit after over ten units of alcohol being consumed prior to consumption). Fortunately the dealer replaced the item free of charge and the new product arrived very quickly. The new one seems to work. It is semi reliable and after around four consecutive tests my Blood Alcohol level (which the device converts from the breath analysis) varies by roughly 0.1%. That does not sound much but considering the Uk drink drive limit is 0.35mg/l this is actually quite a high margin of error. The unit does not measure BAC level to the standard UK units which is mg/100ml which is confusing. Also as mentioned because of the relatively high margin of error / moderate reliability of the product I would only ever use the device in an emergency, and with a realistic consideration of how much, ish, I drank the night before. I.e if I drank 20 units the night before and it suggested I had no alcohol in my system at 7am I would certainly be skeptical / sleep a little more of my hangover off before I left.

USE THIS BREATHALYZER AND YOU COULD LOSE YOUR LICENCE!!!
After very heavy works night out consisting of 6 pints of beer, 8 double vodka and red bulls, a Malibu and pineapple juice (don't judge me, was bought for me as a joke lol)and a Morgans spiced and lemonade, breathalyzer said i was 5 times over the limit, i thought i would be a lot more than 5 times over the limit!! Within 6 hours (sleep and no food) it said i was at 0.0 and OK to drive, there was no way i was fit to drive and showing no alcohol in my system with 6 hours. To check it was the machine at fault 2 days later i took a reading which said 0.0, then drank 6 straight home poured vodkas, waited 30 minutes as per instructions and tried the breathalyzer again, still 0.0. DO NOT BUY this product and if you have one do not trust its readings!!!!! People are going to lose their license using this breathalyzer and Amazon should remove it from sale.

Accurate and good for peace of mind and responsible driving
This item would have received 5 stars were it not for the batteries that arrived being almost empty.Good points+ very accurate/reliable readings+looks strong, well built and will last a long time+for the price its excellent - its great for that peace of mind - has given accurate readings+shows how much battery power is left - so you know when you need to replace batteries.+attractive design.+arrived promptly in good packaging.Bad points-can not charge via USB but must use inconvenient aa batteries-batteries that arrived were nearly empty. All in all a good purchase.Would recommend

Seems to work fine for me
Just had a read through other reviews and as there were a few negatives I thought I'd add my positive thoughts. I've had the unit a few months now and whilst I of course can't verify its accuracy I can say it seems to work. This is based on taking readings after drinking (note you need to wait 20 mins from your last drink before taking a sample) and seeing the level go up.I expect some of the negative 'it can't be accurate' comments are down to the fact that people process alcohol in different ways, some can drink more to get to the UK 0.35 mg/l legal limit - and process it out of the system quicker. So in summary a great check for the morning after, after doing some online research if you really want belt and braces then you'll need to spend £70+ on a unit.

Read this if worried about the reported zero readings
There have been many comments about zero readings the morning after a heavy night's drinking.I queried the seller and they gave me a detailed explanation of why this may be so. I am therefore confident that the product is accurate and it is my high metabolism that is causing the zero readings. It would be useful to have a detailed description of this issue in the user documentation - it seems to have caused a lot of negaive and probbaly unfair feedback.

Stopped Working After 12 Months
This is a neat and apparently well-made unit. It worked just fine for the first 12 months, then suddenly started reading zero all the time (even after a few drinks) so I'm not sure this can really be trusted. Could lure you into a false sense of security.

Gave false reading
Bought this to replace another brand thatI have had for years and felt it was time to replace just in case it wasn't accurate anymore.I must have a faulty unit, as even after drinking more than my fair share over the weekend it told me I was below the limit to drive.Whilst mine may be faulty and Amazon have refunded without it being returned I do find it concerning that I had the previous weekend I relied on it the morning after and may well have been over the limit.Fortunately this weekend common sense told me that there was no way I could drive and I was using the unit purely to find out how over the limit I was.Use with caution and some common sense

Good piece of kit, recommend for piece of mind.
Simple to use, good quality and trustworthy, with a readout that is more meaningful than a red-amber-green. I bought this after taking a job that does random alcohol tests. Liking a pint or two of an evening I used this device to find my limits, so that I can head to work in the morning without the anxiety of wondering if there's any alcohol in my system. I don't use it to flirt with the drink drive limit, simply to satisfy myself that I am 0.00 BAC before heading to work in the morning.
