What are the plastic parts in the box? How are they used, exactly?

The plastic pieces that come in the box are to help angle the node, and harness the node to the valve. Some people have gotten creative and have used the valve attachment and affixed it to one of the in or out pipes going into the valve.

Is this solely a single zone controller?

Yes, single station timer. Also available is a NODE200, NODE400 and NODE600. And if you like Bluetooth connectivity to control these from your smart phone, search for the NODTBT100, BODEBT200 and NODEBT400

Does this include the clip to mount the timer onto the solenoid (Hunter calls it the mounting clip)?

The clip that attaches the Timer Module to the Solenoid and was included in the package when I received Hunter Controller.

Node will not display although new batteries have been installed?

hmmmm, you must have an electrical problem either in the node or in your wiring up to the node. I've installed about a dozen new nodes over the past couple years----no problem with either. If you have other working nodes-----you can always try one in the location you need to fix......if it works then something's wrong with the new unit.

Meine 10 Jahre alte Bewässerungsanlage funktioniert wieder zuverlässig. Die Magnetspule passt auch auf das alte Ventil, somit war die Reparatur in wenigen Minuten abgeschlossen.

Easy to install and program.

I used this to replace the same unit that was 5 years old. With very heavy rains the old unit was submerged in water for several days. Some water got inside and afterward the unit would not activate the solenoid. I may have not screwed on the cap to the fully closed position after replacing the batteries before the big rain storms. Replacement was easy. Unscrew the old solenoid and screw in the new one with attached timer. Works perfectly as scheduled. Works manually as well.
