Easy install quick shipping.
Remodeling a shower. I was planning on building 2 niches. The tile contractor had stated that a prefab one is easier. I had no idea what to buy. This one was flush with drywall and is thicker plastic so I bought two. They worked perfectly. Did not come with screws or nails. I used 1” stainless screws. Could not be happier.

Worked well
Installed easily and so far so good. No leaks and worked well for the space.

Works well with both Kerdi and Durock installations
I was very happy with this niche because we were turning it long ways instead of straight up and down. We were able to 45 our Schlueter trim perfectly on these corners. My only con to this is that it is plastic and it moves a lot so if you are installing mosaics make sure that they are embedded in your Ditraset or you will have to reinstall some tiles like we did. Being plastic is also a pro because it is completely waterproof. Once we put the Kerdi membrane over the screw holes it was a completely waterproof niche with no worries of leaking. Once again make sure that your tiles are bedded in your thin set by using a margin float or something like that or you will come back the next day and have a few tiles that did not stick in the flimsy parts.

Worked well but expensive & truth in reviewing...
Worked well. Much quicker, easier and a better process than framing it out traditionally. Sat perfectly flush with 1/2" Durock light-weight foam board. The rough frame size is 14" x 18". I put in a rain-head, so I decided to put the niche opposite the shower head ("behind" you) otherwise you'd have to reach through the water spray to grab anything. I didn't put in on the side wall because I didn't want shampoo bottles to be the focus when you walk into the bathroom. Just my preference, there's no right or wrong location. Once the unit was set into the backerboard, I surrounded it with the backerboard membrane as per manufacturer's instructions (I took the photo prior to that to show how it was set into the wall). When installing it, make sure it is right-side up. The bottom has an intentional, slight incline to help water run off it. One allegedly experienced reviewer who normally "makes his own" stated the back to front has a 1/4" slope - no way is that even close to being true. If it was, bottles would not stay in it. Ridiculous comment. Another was told you need a "special" ($115 a bag) mortar...Not true. I used standard Mapei ultraflex thin-set and it's been holding for 3 years. That being said...It just seems so expensive for a piece of injection-molded plastic. I've noticed most manufacturer's are priced around the same - so it must be an industry-wide price point. It's a decent size - it holds about 7 various sized bottles (2 for me 5 for my wife). I just ordered a second one for the upcoming kid's bathroom renovation. I would recommend it based on use and functionality, but sorry, -1 star for the price. NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, inexperience or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

Did what it was supposed to do.
There is really not much to say about a plastic box that has to be installed and tiled correctly. For me the box did exactly what I had expected. The thickness of the plastic made the box sturdy and it does have a slope to allow water to drain appropriately. Other then that it’s a plastic box.

Don’t buy
Usually I make my own niches but decided to use a pre made one. That was a mistake! All four sides are sloped which in itself isn’t bad but the degree of slope to too much. There is 1/4” difference in front and back. For drainage all that is needed is 1/4” in a one foot run. But this is 1/4” in approximately a 4” run! Cutting the sides and shelves was a pain. And worst of all the back is not ridged and flexes when you try setting the back tile. From now on I’ll either make my or go with Schluter.
