Royal & Langnickel GOU24 Gouache Color Artist Tube Paint, 12ml, 24-Pack

I am surprised by how much I am enjoying these paints! Perfect range of colors to get me started. Wanted to try a lower priced gouache before committing to this medium. They are fun to experiment with and play without worrying about big expense. I highly suggest you swatch the whole palette first from full strength to watery. This helped me understand the many uses of gouache. Really liking this purchase for my purposes. Happy painting!!

This set was my first attempt at using Gouache paints - I had been considering dabbling in them for a while so when I saw this set for a touch over 10 bucks I figured I would give it a go. This set comes with a lot of colors allowing you to do a variety of paintings without the need to mix colors completely from scratch. Again, was only around $10 so I was completely expecting a few tubes to be useless... so when a few tubes did wound up being very 'tacky' from drying out I was (obviously not thrilled) but not too disappointed. Pros: - lots of colors so no need to blend from scratch unless you want to - cheap, so if you are unsure you won't be out a ton of money if you don't like this set - it's prime so if you are impatient to play with a new medium this is a quick fix - a great way to text the Gouache medium Cons: - a few of the tubes were slightly dried out, making it very difficult to blend and paint with Overall Impressions: I would, and probably will, buy this set again but I will also be slowing purchasing higher quality ones that I won't have to worry about the quality issues that occurred with this set. Again, it is $10 so I was completely expecting a few tubes to be useless.

My only experience with gouache was with the Reeves brand. I spent the last year and a half: Painting a picture -> getting upset because it looked chalky, dull, and patchy where layers lifted -> deciding gouache wasn't for me/putting it away for months -> finding someone's amazing gouache painting and getting inspired -> repeat the cycle. *The paint isn't streaky when applied thick. It also blooms well when treated like watercolors. *The set comes with both Titanium White and Zinc White which is a nice touch since most gouache sets I've seen usually only comes with one type of white. *I haven't had an issue with the paint looking chalky when dried. *Rewetting dry paints on my palette is a breeze. *The paint is opaque enough that I was able to cover up my mistakes. *I haven't had a problem accidentally lifting paint while blending or reactivating the layer underneath (a major reoccurring problem with Reeves) *As far as I can tell, the colors look vibrant to me but I'm colorblind so take my opinions on vibrancy with a grain of salt, I can't speak 100% for the Greens, Yellows, or Browns which is almost half the colors. *This last point is more of a personal problem but Green is my worst nightmare color-wise so I do like that it comes with so many different shades of Green. My Reeves set had 2 (maybe 3??) tubes, so I was constantly asking for help mixing the shade of Green I wanted; which I'm sure was annoying. At least with 5 tubes I wont need to ask as often ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sure, these may not be "artist quality." If you intend to make paintings for posterity that will be displayed in the Louvre, you might need a better brand. But for any practicing practical artist, these are just fine. The colors are accurately named, which is a crucial point! Colors are vivid and mix well. All the colors except the earth tones dissolve very easily. One of my earth tones ( sienna) separated and required some gooey remixing, then I put it into a container for later use. other than that, no complaints whatsoever. Will they last a century or two? Probably not. I don't care. They are opaque and potent and affordable and pretty and fun.

As someone who is starting to get into gouache I'd say that these paints are really good, you can reactivate them even they are dry. The colors are nice and you dont need to mix much if you dont want to and you can water the gouache down like watercolor or use them as opaque as acrylics just like any other expensive gouache. And the price is very good for this sort of quality.

I purchased this set in January because I wanted a starter set for gouache. I have prior experience with watercolor and was very excited about these because of all the positive reviews. So here are my thoughts after almost daily use for about a month. 1. They're a good starter set. But that's about it. If you're really looking to improve your technique, this probably isn't the set for you. The paints are thin and a bit streaky, and sometimes difficult to blend. I found myself wishing they were more opaque. 2. They do have a wonderfuly fast drying time, which makes them somewhat okay to layer with. It's crucial with these to allow layers to dry completely, or they'll activate paint that's been previously put down. I 3. Good color selection. For an affordable beginner set, the color range is very nice! This would be a wonderful purchase for kids or those who are just starting out, but might be a frustrating buy for those who are looking for more opaque colors, consistency, and more vibrancy.

It's pretty amazing. Wonderful colors. And lovely paintings. Great for beginners and intermediates. The only downside is price in India. It's much cheaper in other countries but here's it's quite expensive. But still a great choice. We run a page on Instagram (@_frame.of.reference_) and I really enjoy painting with these gouache. Certo, non è forse a livello delle marche più celebri ma sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto e uso questi guazzi anche per lavori complessi.

War wegen dem günstigen Preis etwas skeptisch, aber es lassen sich tolle Bilder damit malen. Die Farben lassen sich gut verblenden und sind schön deckend, wenn man es braucht. Auf Grund dass die Farben nicht riechen eine gute Alternative zu Ölfarben in der Wohnung.

Was ok very watery requires a few applications

"bonjour je ne suis pas déçue de mon achat je ne connaissais pas cette marque et je dois dire que je suis contente .Si on essaye pas ben on le sais pas .Jai peint dans le livre de klara Markova bonne pigmentation ne traverse pas .Juste dommage pas de belle boite en fer juste emballage en carton peut-être une prochaine fois . je vous recommande cette peinture .
