Bought this because the quantity seemed good for the price you pay and wanted to try it. Bad plan! This stuff is seriously gross! I don't know what they do different, but I've purchased a lot of other mochi both in stores and online before and this stuff tastes nothing else I've tried. The taste itself is really difficult to describe, but the bottom line is it is NOT GOOD! Wasn't worth going through the process of trying to return, so the entire bag just went in the garbage.

Tasty, moist and expensive
Due to the growth in frozen yogurt establishments around Chicago, I have become accustomed to eating mochi multiple times per week as my favorite topping. It was a surprising that one recent frozen yogurt entrepreneur had no idea what mochi was. So, I purchased this bag to provide a sample to the owner. Of course, I tried some myself and was quite pleased despite the steep price. In short, this is as tasty as any mochi I have tried at any frozen yogurt establishment. It is far more moist, as one might expect due to the sealed package in which the product is sold. Given the steep shipping costs and inexpensive base ingredients (i.e. rice, corn syrup) it does seem a bit overpriced. Howeve, until I find a better value, I will be a repeat customer.

Not the best
A little crunchy for my taste. It's not the soft pillowy mochi I like - my favorite are the ones from pinkberry. It had a slightly flour-y taste too because of what they were coated in for storage.

Heavenly but expensive
Delish but expensive. There was nothing wrong w the mochi . It tasted very good. Wish the bag was bigger

Heaven
Just like the mochi you find wrapped around your ice cream in the frozen food section, only in little balls sans ice cream. Wonderful to use as a topping on your favorite frozen dessert. I am in heaven.

This did NOT taste like mochi!
When I took the sealed bag out of the shipping box, the little pieces of mochi (supposedly 'cakes') were stuck together and arrived in pretty much one big, gooey clump with a lot of powder on the outside. Since I knew this was made with glutinous rice flour and that probably accounted for the gooeyness, I decided to give it a try and taste it anyway. BIG mistake! Not only did this stuff not taste like mochi, it didn't even taste like rice or rice flower! Unfortunately, I don't have a way of describing the taste of this stuff as other than cloyingly, sickly sweet that left an aftertaste of the same. I don't know what type of powdered starch they used on this, but it also had a very cloying, sickly sweet taste and was probably responsible for most of the flavor.I will be returning this stuff if the shipping cost is not too high, otherwise it is going into the trash!

Alright
I was really excited to try these, and when they arrived, they tasted fine. The only thing I didn't like is that the mochi were extremely sticky and stuck together in the bag. You literally couldn't have just one, they came out as a conglomerate and that ruined the experience for me. Will not order from this store again.

Meh Mochi
I was spoiled by other brands available here. This one is mediocre. Not terrible, but, while my husband loves the other brand, he won't touch these "chalkier" (his word) version. One star from him. Three from me.
