Wonderful flavour, much better than UK or Asian sate sauces
The flavour is like spicy, sweet, peanut butter but there is something unique in Dutch sate sauces that I have never tasted in UK or Asian produced sauces. This brand is also the most popular in the Netherlands where the most loved cuisine is Indonesian (after home cooked Dutch food of course)The cost for importation is built into the rather high price of the prime delivered sauces so they are expensive compared to sauces produced in the UK or mass imported but for me the difference in flavour is more than worth it especially considering these are the 1kg packs that are concentrated so you add 50/50 water to sauce so they can make up to 40 portions (20 dutch size generous portions :0) per pack. The description mentions kant-en-klaar dutch for ready to eat, this is usually used on packets that aren’t concentrated that you heat in the pot and serve straight from the microwave but reading the packages themselves they are the concentrated type so make twice as much. To prepare I put a couple of tablespoons in a milk saucepan and pour over equal amounts of water then heat slowly, stirring constantly until ready then pour over chicken or pork kebabs or cooked cubes of meat (vegetable kebabs would work well too). If you want to keep the sauce hot it can be prepared as above in a saucepan then poured into a fondue set with a lit candle under so people can dip straight in the sauce with meat or crudites of raw veggies. Please remember when heating this sauce it will get mouth burning my hot if you heat it too much as if contains peanuts, sugar and oil so gentle heat consistently applied is better than blasting it. This does keep well in the fridge, however once diluted with water and heated I would used any left-overs within a day or so.

Quality
Gorgeous sate sauce. Always used this brand in the Netherlands. Great to be able to get it in the UK. Highly recommended

Just as I remember it
I used to buy this when I lived in Holland, and it’s just as I remember it. Ideal with chicken satay, but also with chips, fresh French bread and many other things.

Only one star as there is no zero
Having lived five years in Holland and enjoyed Indonesian satay sauce at least once a week I thought to buy a Dutch sauce of a recommended brand and make a nice stir fry. However, when I opened the pot the contents looked strange; semi transparent jelly kind of stuff with bits in it and the smell was nothing much but not peanut sauce. I followed the simple instructions; bring water to boil and add some sauce mix, cook a while until the sauce thickens, Bob's your uncle. I know from experience how a real satay sauce smells, looks and tastes. In my sauce pan there was an off putting looking mass of pale beige gunk which thickened all right but still smelled of anything but a proper delicious satay sauce you would get anywhere in Holland, and the colour would not change either. The colour should be rich nutty brown, mine was greyish beige sickly horror of a colour. Well, I chose to ignore the colour and bravely proceeded to taste the odd luxury and found the taste terrible too. No peanut sauce but something entirely different. Very sweet and sugary, just unpleasant and with my best efforts I simply could not imagine the stuff on top of any kind of food on a plate. Conclusion: got thrown away but the pot will come handy to keep nails and screws in, an expensive plastic pot but I needed one more.

Finally relatively cheap saté saus
It's interesting that this Dutch made Indonesian food, is shipped by a German based company to England. But I'm glad it's reasonably priced and very tasty. I'm hoping they'll start shipping Sambal Badjak next 👍🏻

Very disappointed!
Tastes nothing like the Pindasaus you get on your chips from the chipshop !I thought it may be the holy grail after reading the revues but this is far from the real thing.Don't waste your money like I did.I even tried adding peanut butter but still very let down by this stuff.
