Best on a budget and to mod
Just got my Kyojin lightsaber. I'm giving it five stars for a few reasons. Compared straight up to something from Ultrasabers or Saber Forge, it won't stack up if you're a saber collector or afficianado. But if you don't have a lot of money and don't want a toy, this is the safer for you.To be fair, it was my intention from the start to mod this saber with a photon blade from Vader's Vault. In a nutshell, a photon blade takes blue light and does some sciencey magic to it and makes it a blazing green that's ten times the original brightness of what the LED can do on it's own. If you're thinking of doing this, make SURE you get a 7/8" photon blade, as this saber does not take the industry standard 1" blade. So, let's discuss that. This is a SMALL saber. In fact, when I opened the box, I thought they only packed the blade and forgot the saber until I completely unwrapped it and found that they put the whole thing in the cardboard tube, the hilt not being much more around than it's blade. Now, for me, this is what I wanted. It fits comfortably in the hand with your fingers easily able to make a closed grip and it is long enough for a two handed grip. I got mine in silver with a blue blade (again, so I could use it to per a photon green blade) and it is one so color without the sexy parts and pieces of a hilt from other companies. This suits me fine. I put some grip tape on the handle and used high gloss model paint around the indentations and it looks really sharp. Like a saber an old duelist would have.As to the functionality. This blade only has a 5 watt LED, but the blade sits so far into the hilt, sitting directly around the light aperture, that it gives off a glow comparable to some other 12 watt hilts. It also has two set screws to hold the blade in, instead of just one. If you choose to use just one (which holds the blade just fine), you get a little lit spot which is pretty cool. All in all, I think the thinner blade looks more like the sabers from the movies. I would recommend this saber to anyone looking to save some money and if you like a green blade, get the blue LED and order a photon blade from Vader's Vault and you'll have a blade brighter than anything from the larger manufacturers.

Great for the price.
These are great! I bought a couple of these (blue & green) for our 2018 Halloween costumes and cosplay. These are a great alternative to the more expensive $400+ FX sabers you can buy out there. The ligh is bright and the sounds are good. We've beat these up pretty good in many duels and they hold up really well. The look really good at night. This photo is a picture of me waking my son up in the morning to a duel before school. I'm probably going to buy a third one because a need a villain (red) saber.Cons: The sounds are not consistent. They don't allways make the clashing sound when in a duel. If you push the button once for the reflection sound there is a 1 1/2 second delay.Tip: Press the button twice for the sound a saber makes when pressed against another saber!

Definitely I great lightsaber, but is it the best? (READ FULL REVIEW)
I don't normally write reviews, but this definitely deserves one. However before I continue, I want to clarify that the ones in the picture were ordered off eBay, not amazon. The one I ordered off Amazon (which isn't here yet at the time of writing this) and the ones I got from eBay are both the same things. eBay just got here first, which is something I'm going to talk more about later in this review. So, without anymore stalling, lets dive in!Lets start with quality. The hilt itself is very strong and plainly designed, making it easier to hold and manipulate in your hands. It also has a chrome-like finish to it, adding to the look better than cheap plastic. The only thing I don't like is how easy it is to hit the button accidentally while using. A simple way to fix this would be to change the way you hold the hilt to best fit your fighting style, but still keep your figures away from the button until you're ready to press it. The speaker is on the bottom of the hilt, which is fine, but then the sound is coming from the bottom of the hilt instead of near the blade itself. The sensors around the blade used to detect contact doesn't always detect when the blade is hit. You need to hit the blade hard for the sensors to activate any sound. As for the connection between the blade and the hilt, I don't think you'll have to worry about the blade ever separating from it. For what I can see, there are at least three screws connecting the two and likely more on the inside which one can't see without taking it apart... But why would anyone want do that to a Lightsaber! It's a very sturdy setup indeed. The blades are of great quality and light's up with the most vibrant of colors. The polycarbonate the blades are made from are strong, but still a type of plastic. I haven't gotten the chance to duel with them yet, but judging by just hitting them together in general, I'd say they could support real dueling... for a time. Like all things, to much force would probably break them eventually. I have not doubt you could get some really great battles with them, but after a time, you could need to buy new ones. This is where I'm going to cut into value for a moment. Is it worth the value on Amazon. I'd say yes, but here's the thing. I ordered a blue saber with a silver hilt off amazon on December 21, 2019 and it's not going to arrive until January 6th through the 14th (last I saw, it was in Hong Kong). These three I got off eBay I ordered on December 27, 2019 and they arrived December 31, 2019. They were also cheaper, averaging around $65.00 each plus free shipping and a total of $11.84 tax for all three combined. The one I got from Amazon was $80.00 with expedited shipping which was another $10.48, plus a higher tax of $6.11 for one lightsaber. To some this up, if you want to get these, get them off eBay from the same seller. You'll get them quicker and cheaper.Amazon - One lightsaber - $80.00 each - $96.58 total - Takes a few weeks to arrive.eBay - Three lightsabers - $65.00 each - $187.15 total - Takes around a week to arrive.(Then again, I ordered around Christmas. EVEYTHING TAKES LONGER AROUND CHRISTMAS.)So all in all, definitely a great lightsaber, but is it the best? I'm sure there's other lightsabers out there with higher blade durability, hilt quality, and even better sounds. Those lightsabers are around $400.00, $500.00, too even $600.00 plus dollars. So I'll say this is the best you can get for an affordable price. If you're a millionaire looking to through you're money at the best, high quality lightsaber though, "Ultrasaber", it's over there. -->I hope you found this review helpful! May the force be with you!

The force -- and this sturdy lightsaber -- are with me.
I did a little modification myself. Paint, stain, two kinds of spar varnish and some matte finish. A PVC handguard. Took the modifications well. This thing is bright and so far quite sturdy. Good balance and works for bashing things! I'll probably get another in a different color. Awesome.

Just like the movie version and durable enough to play with (older kids)
I bought four of these and these were loved by each recipient (teen boys). The sound effects, heavy feel and colors make them seem like the real thing. With rough play they won't last, but fun for some minor battling. Much better than the all plastic ones we have purchased in past.

Failed in 4 weeks.
This was a fairly expensive item. It was charged fully, then the lights and sound failed. I put it on the charger again, but the blue power light pulsed as normal. This had no rough treatment, never wet or dirty, so I’m assuming it’s a bad build. I can not recommend purchasing this. Very disappointed.
