Jinfeng 8 inch Wire Stripper and Wire Cutters,Cable Cutter Multi-function Hand Tool

I am writing this review after using this tool to wire 11 lights in a garage. For a cheap cost tool, this is not bad at all. Since my uses do not include the need for crimping terminals, it is nice to have the larger sized cutter included vs the multiple crimping slots. Ranging from 8 to 16 AWG, it easily covers the common wire sizes for stripping. The stripping portion is nice in that it has the two cutting sides overlapping each other vs cutting with a pinch. With the pinch style, once you get some blade wear, the two cutting sides no longer come together flush reducing its ability to work properly. The cutting surface is sharp and can easily cut through some strands of wire if you are using stranded wires. Using the cutter to only cut the insulation and the pliers top to pull it off helps avoid this.The large cutting blade is a nice improvement over the more traditional small pinch cut blade. It is also capable of cutting the outer insulation on romex cable if you carefully spin the cutter around the cable, similar to as you would using a cyclops style stripper on CAT6 cable. Having only this pliers will get the job done, you can remove the outer sheathing, stop the inside wires, bend loop ends, cut and twist wire and cut or pull nails and screws. While some of those tasks can be done better and faster with other more specialized tools, it is nice to have a single tool that can do the standard tasks well.Overall the pliers seems durable. I cannot speak to the longevity, but nothing on the tool seems loose or brittle where I feel extra care is needed to avoid it breaking. I would assume that as with all cutting surfaces, this will dull with use, but as a home / DIY user I expect a long life from this. I also wanted to note that the pliers arrived with a light coating of oil on the metal surfaces. This is nice as it helps prevent rusting before purchase.

From the circuit breaker with the 50 Amp breaker to the 4 wire 6 Gauge braided wire all the way to my electric 7500 Watt Garage Heater the Jinfeng 8 inch Wire Stripper and Wire Cutters,Cable Cutter Multi-function Hand Tool had just what I needed to get the job done. I purchased this tool to quickly remove the jacket from 14/3 round power cables. No more searching the tool bag for razor blades, knives or box openers. The round cutting surface on the mouth of this tool perfectly scores the round cable for easy removal. I am very happy with this purchase.

Feels sturdy. Easy to handle. Cutter was dull within 4 cuts. I was using it for cutting new brake cables for my bike. Had to order a new cable after the dull cutter frayed the end. Still a usable tool, but not reliable when sharpness and strength matter.

Vary useful and multiple tools in one, saves space in the ol’tool punch

These are great. I wish I had a pair of these when I was working with cable installation years ago on the Railroad. Nice frim handle a good cutting blade.
