Rustler 40 in. Vertical Smoker and Grill

Lit up for the first time to do a brisket. Didn’t even get to 250 degrees and peeled and bubbled paint. Then caused a fire in the box from the paint peeling. Worst I have ever used.

I just bought this same smoker/grill – I found it on sale at a local store. It also took me about 3 hours to assemble. Based on recommendations I found through YouTub (I'm brand new to smokers) I bought and used high-temp silicone and high-temp gasket to help seal in the smoke (links below).LavaLock Food Safe BBQ grade adhesive grill smoker High Temp RTV Silicon - CLEAR 3 ounceFireblack Hi Temp BBQ smoker Gasket Self Stick 15 ft High Heat 1/2 x 1/8 BlackIt doesn't come with a cover so, based on the above person's suggestion, I got the Oklahoma Joe's cover and it fits great!Oklahoma Joe's Bandera Smoker CoverAlthough this product is primarily for smoking, you can also use it for grilling. The fire box is really deep so it can handle the wood. The downside is if you want to only use the grill, the charcoal grate/tray is too far away from the grill. The solution is to raise the charcoal grate/tray -- I used rocks. That's the only reason for he 4 stars.I'll update my review as I start using the smoker more.

About to scroll through Home Depot and I totally enjoy it it took me anybody about 3 hours to put it together in about 6 hours to cure it. Now people were asking about a cover for this Grill there are no cover put out by rivergrille but Oklahoma Joe's smoker has an up right cover that fits this perfectly and the logo faces the back so you can't tell us not Rivergrille
