I had my yearly AC maintenance and was told that the capacitor was having issues. I did notice when it started that it was lagging to start. I thought of swapping it out but he confirmed it. He said I think they are $245 plus installation charges. I have heard of people being charged $1000 or told to replace the AC. Well I saw videos on YouTube and replaced it myself. $45 bucks and it now starts instantly. I have to say so far so good but time will tell. I highly recommend and please watch the videos online before attempting to do this.

felt as though our hvac capacitor was having issues so input a pic of our compressor model and capacitor label into perplexity and asked for exact replacement. perp suggested several so i researched those here , chose this, ordered two and they arrived as scheduled. following youtube vids i installed one of these in 15 mins and it worked as advertised!

My AC unit stopped working in the hottest part of the summer. It was the capacitor and I had a backup so I got it working that same day. I bought this one to have as a backup. Inexpensive enough that I don't mind buying it and just having it there just in case

Purchase this capacitor to have on hand in case the main capacitor goes out. When this capacitor goes out, your compressor will not start up and you will lose air conditioning and or heat in a heat pump system.
