I wanted to add plant lights to the shelf I elevated into the window for winter plant storage, but had no room for standard fixtures on these low narrow shelves. This LED plant light strip sounded like a perfect solution. I zigzagged the strip up the shelf, and so far it has worked perfectly! My plants are thriving, the lights seem to work great. I'll post an update in a couple months on how it's all working out.Prior to buying this light strip, I read a number of reviews where people complained this light strip was flimsy or fragile. Now that I've worked with it myself, I'm very curious what people are doing/trying to do with this that they find it flimsy. The only thing I can think of is that people are buying this thinking it's a rope light.Just to be clear, an LED strip is NOT a rope light, they are two very different things. As LED light strips go, this one is particularly sturdy, with a soft plastic cover over the lights. It would not work for lighting a miniature, at 1/4" thick, it's too big, but it's great for lighting a shelf, window, etc. The lights are cool to the touch, so there's no fear of burning your plants. The strip comes with a switch that lets you change between light levels, and if you want only blue or only red lights.Love this product!

The jury is out as to whether or not this will grow plants (or in my case algae). This may work better for other applications, but I'll describe my first 24hrs of experience with the product.The strip is a soft plastic coated ribbon of LEDs. Per the description, they are supposed to be waterproof. I didn't try submerging them, but water poof is very plausible.Some have complained that they are too fragile. It's a ribbon folks and more robust than what I would have expected. Unless you are swinging them around or drop something heavy on the ribbon, it should be fine. I was careful with it but didn't fear breaking it.The adhesive strip on the back seemed sticky enough to hold the strip up.These things are super bright.They also produce a surprising amount of heat. I bought these for a custom DIY aquarium algae scrubber (see pictures). I stuck the strip in a spiral inside a steel cylinder (no top or bottom) and set it around my reactor (not touching). The top of the cylinder get hot (closer to the plug end of the strip). It's not so hot that you can't hold on to it, but it gets your attention for sure. I wouldn't want to put it in an enclosed space. The bottom of the cylinder, surprisingly was cool. The strip itself (when felt directly) actually is notable hotter at the plug end. I actually would have expected the steel cylinder to act as a better heat sink. I can only imagine how hot the strip would get if it wasn't stuck to something metal. Maybe these should be submerged to dissipate heat or at least spread out rather than used in a spiral.When dimmed, I could hear a buzz/whine from the dimmer. The noise went away when turned fully on.Also, after 12hrs of running, the dimmer and on/off switch completely failed. The strip is stuck on when plugged in. The dimmer and on/off switch worked when I initially set this up.Anyway, this is probably a fail for my application. The light strip might work for others. I debated the rating because I'm doing something odd with these. I'm giving it 2 stars because the dimmer/on-off switch was noisy when it worked and then failed within 12hrs. Also 2 stars due to the excessive heat.

Yes it works great on my 20 long custom fish tank hood. Used two strips of this and two strips of bright white. With in two days I saw a big difference in my plants.. Yes it can be cut every three lights. It's marked. I soldered me wires, but they sell slip on terminals for those not handy with a soldering gun. This product is nice and bright and very manageable . It is what it is. a ribbon not a rope. I can't speak on dimmer able. I just use a on off timer... Those inquiring about heat... Very very little... Water Proof?? Haven't had any problems with water bubbling and splashing on my strips. I wouldn't try submerging them.Just ordered a second set for my other tank just to grow plants. Tom K.

I got these to wrap around a chaeto reactor. Greatly increase the rate of growth. Wasn’t very clear, but this comes with 3m tape along the back of the whole roll, as well as with clips that I used to adhere it to the reactor facing the light inside the chamber. Obviously the way I used the lights, the tape on the back didn’t really come in use, but for other applications it would be perfect that it comes that way. The clips that come with it did not hold really well at first so I had to tape the ends to help hold the lights in place. Only other downside is that the power supply has a short cord, maybe a foot long.

In general, the product is as in the description. Ordered 5 meters and came exactly 5.Packing quality is good.Plants come alive, spectrum that you need not take Regret. Add in growth well. For seedlings, sweetly suitable (take 5 m. 4 red 1 blue). In addition, i have this tape no less.For this price received the tape itself, power supply and rotate dimmer . Everything works. Delivery is very fast. Thank you seller!

Wow super amazing didn't expect it to be so bright great quality only thing is is isn't that sticky on the back but it's perfect supper dupper happy

Even there is a little heat from the lamps. I use a couple of days, i like the colors. The husband made devices specially for flowers from a plastic box for wires. I like and the goods came quickly, all as in the description.

Works pretty well to boost the light in my little greenhouse.
