Does the job if you know what the job is
Iโm shocked at the number of bad reviews due to ineffectiveness, bad taste or expiration date. First, pastilles like this work primarily to coat the mouth and throat with a smooth, thick substance to ease a sore/scratchy throat. Theyโre not medicine. If you expect anything more than the above, buy medicine. Secondly, because they are not candy, they donโt taste or feel like candy. I buy these precisely because I have dry mouth and throat and they work great at stimulating saliva and coating my dry mouth and throat with something soothing thatโs not gum, sugar or irritating sweeteners. They arenโt super sweet (tend to be slightly tart actually) and they arenโt soft like gummy bears but also not hard and crunchy. They are meant to suck on and relatively quickly dissolve. Finally, if you buy these and they are bad tasting to you or donโt โworkโ for you or the expiration date is within 6 months or WHATEVER REASON, they have a 45 day money back guarantee. Contact THE SELLER. Not Amazon. The sellerโs info is on the product package and they will explain their terms and tell you how to get your money back. Also, how do so many people not understand that although Amazon will not let you return anything edible, they will refund your money if what you purchase is meant to be edible but not edible. If itโs not acceptable for you to consume because no human would be able to consume it, contact Amazon and they will refund your purchase. They donโt want your nasty garbage back so toss it, get a credit, and try another pastille. They vary widely in flavor but most are otherwise close to what you get here. Also, donโt buy the one that claims to ease anxiety with magic..ahem homeopathy. That is an expensive con.

The most Honest Review youโll see! comparing a few pastille products.
As an aspiring singer, I saw โGretherโs pastillesโ recommended by a famous singer. In my search I found Gretherโs, but Dr.Doolittleโs popped up highly ranked (and a little cheaper) as well. I bought 3 things: Dr.Doolittleโs original blackcurrant (plastic bags, 6 bags, 4 per pack = 24 pieces = $10), Dr.Doolittleโs 4 flavor variety pack sugar free (maybe 4 pieces per bag? Canโt remember. ~16 =$6.55), and finally Gretherโs sugar free blueberry tin (they donโt say how many but Iโd guess maybe 25 pieces? = $17). First off, flavor is a big factor for me. I have very sensitive taste buds. The Dr.Doolittle sugar free flavored pack - absolute NO from me. They were hard, weird texture when chewed, and most of them left a minty taste in my mouth. I HATE MINT. But also, minty aftertaste on something like grapefruit or lime??? Not good. Not buying these again. BUT as for the question of Gretherโs versus Dr.Doolittleโs (the original blackcurrant flavor at least) they were both great, but I think Dr.Doolittleโs did a bit better for me. I found that I would take Dr.Doolittleโs every 15 minutes or so, and I could really FEEL it working. Sorry to be gross: but yes, it produced a lot of saliva. These versions were soft and the flavor was good. I donโt count Gretherโs out, because they do work as well, but I didnโt feel it working as much (saliva production) and it didnโt feel as obvious, so I felt the need to take them more frequently. Basically every 10 minutes or so. Flavor was barely noticeable to be honest. Not bad, but not as good as the blackcurrant. (Which for me is surprising. I would have thought I would have liked the sweeter berry flavor better, but maybe itโs the fact that Gretherโs is sugar free? I really feel this is working against it). I went through what I bought rather quickly so I stocked up, buying both Gretherโs sugar free blueberry and Dr.Doolittleโs classic blackcurrant again. I have Gretherโs classic blackcurrant (not sugar free) in my cart for next time, so maybe Iโll update when Iโve tried those, but it wonโt be for a while. NOW: if you want to know how they worked in terms of singing - phenomenal! Highly recommend! Clearer sound, less vibrato, and overall feel like I am easily hitting notes that are usually difficult for me. But like I said, effects are pretty short. But worth it? For me, absolutely! I also had a day where I wasnโt feeling good: wasnโt eating or drinking anything, but I kept popping (the Gretherโs) just to keep my mouth from going dry. Itโs weird to explain, but they did help in this odd scenario. They are advertised to dry mouth sufferers as well, so I think thatโs YES, they would help you, if this is your aim. So, at this very moment, #1 Dr.Doolittleโs originals, #2 Gretherโs sugar free blueberry, and removed from list: Dr.Doolittleโs sugar free anything. I honestly have really high hopes for Gretherโs original, too. I think the sugar free part is just making them harder to chew and more unpleasant to eat (they donโt โmeltโ the same as the ones with sugar) and possibly that makes it so they donโt work as well? Like the sugar actually adds to the effect? Maybe Iโm making it up in my mind. But thatโs the most honest review youโre going to see out of these! hope this helps others like me!

Lifesaver for dry mouth and so delicious
These pastilles are a lifesaver for my dry mouth. Iโve tried all the flavors and the elderberry ones are the best. They are so soothing and really delicious.

Yes to these
Seems to work. I was told to use sugarfree lozenges for my dry vocal chords. Tried today before I gave a speech, and it worked, so I'll be ordering more. As a bonus, they have a very pleasant taste and texture...smooth gummies.

Nice, but pricey.
These seem to work well, but are pricey. I use them more when I have back to back gigs, and they help soothe my throat.

Great, flavorful Pastille
This pastille has a great flavor and a soft, chewy texture. The Blackcurrent flavor is great - it tastes very similar to a tart blueberry to me. Best of all as soon as I popped one of these pastilles in my mouth I was able to talk again. I speak a lot in my line of work. It will be so helpful and easy to carry these pastilles to work. I get dry mouth at night and it seems that these pastilles would be very helpful and soft to keep in my mouth over night. I will update back when I have had a chance to use tonight. I will be reordering as soon as I run out!

Taste good and really helps my dry mouth
Aside from the funny smell they taste really good. Just what I need when Iโm out and about. It does seem to help with my dry mouth for times I donโt have access to water or soda. I will buy again.

Tasty, sugarfree, but no throat soothing
These are tasty and I love that they are sugar free. However, they do absolutely nothing for my throat. I still buy them as candy though ๐
