Yes. The filter is a fine mesh, and does not need replaced.

Q: Can this be used in an above ground pool?

I can't see any impediment for it.

Q: How well does this cleaner work on odd shaped pools with sundecks and steps

Is does not go up my steps. I have three steps and it goes up to the bottom one and goes back down. I’ve never seen it go up the other two steps. I brush the too two steps off. It does go up the walls and does an amazing job other than. We have an oval shaped in ground pool.

The Nautilus CC pool cleaner has the option of setting a weekly (7day) automatic cleaning cycle only. This robot is a basic ON/OFF feature function. The power supply also has the weekly automatic cleaning options noted as the 1,2,and 3 options.
