Great little budget camera!
The media could not be loaded. Ausdom Webcam AW335 Full HD 1080P Network Camera Video Cams for Computer This is a review of the Full HD 1080P Camera.I got this camera to use with Windows 7 64-bit.After I unboxed it, inside there was just the USB camera (with a fixed cable USB) plus a multilingual manual (supporting languages EN/DE/RU/FR/ES/IT/JP). The USB cable was nice and long at 1.5 meters !The construction of the camera was good, it was made mostly of plastic and aluminium. The clip is made of a bendable wire, which can hook onto your PC monitor. It offers various degrees of flexibility and manoeuvrability. Not super manoeuvrable but it’s satisfactory. On top of the device you have: a button which allows you to take snapshots, an LED and an omni directional microphone. The lens is not autofocus and must be adjusted for sharpness, you do this by turning the centre lens with your fingers by holding onto two tiny latches.Installation was really easy, once plugged in, my Windows 7 PC recognised it straight away and no additional drivers were needed. The resolutions it supports are:MJPG1920 x 1080 @ 30 fps1280 x 720 @ 30 fps160 x 120 @ 30 fpsThe quality was OK for the price, I took various snapshots of a book which I’ve included with this preview. I’ve also uploaded a picture of my TV running a DTS clip (“dolby_sports_sound_demo-DWEU” on demo-world) and I capture the playback via this Ausdom Webcam AW335 camera. I did it this way because I wanted to have a standardised test for all my camera reviews using the same footage.Overall I was impressed with the omin-directional mic, it captures audio really well. The picture quality was alright and it was really simple to use (just plug and play) for a £15.99 camera. If you’re on a budget and you need something cheap then look no further.I’ve included a video and some pictures for you. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Substantial quality Very clear picture
I got this webcam as a present for my daughter who is disabled having suffered a stroke when she was 9 years old.She is now grown up with a family and wants to make YouTube videos to help others struggling with disabilities. She intends to show how she works around the limitations to do her hair, make up dressing etc.She is not able to do this at the moment as she has a nasty sore throat and has lost her voice but she will report how it goes and I will update here. Before I gave it to her, I unpacked it and made sure it was working, I was surprised at how substantial it was and the "leg" is multi adjustable. You can use it stood on a desk or hooked over your screen, rather impressive. Our laptop is nearing the end of it's days. Takes ages to boot up and then gives up the ghost and freezes after a few minutes so I had to be quick trying it.First of all, I plugged the webcam into the USB port. Windows immediately fetched the driver for it and all was well ( I have windows 7)If all you need the camera for is Skype or other video messaging then this is all you need to do. You will be up and running in a matter of a minute (probably quicker on a decent computer)Next I tried the disc, this installed everything wonderfully, followed the instructions in the booklet that came with the webcam and it worked wellI was able to twiddle with the settings and see a preview. Really high quality pictures, a bit too high quality for me as it showed every line Lol. The instructions give you clear details, in proper English on how to do this. That is as far as I got as my laptop decided to freeze again, nothing to do with the webcam, this always happens, I really must get a new laptopWhen my daughter has installed it on her system I will update to let you know how well it does videos for YouTube. Can't wait to see her resultsHope this is useful, pictures below. Some of them are a bit blurred as I had to take them quickly knowing how my laptop is.

Excellent image quality BUT . . .
Excellent image quality. But I have two issues.1. The base/stand is awkward and doesn't fix the webcam well. I use the webcam to show a view from my window. in the end, I removed the stand (2 screws), epoxy-glued a suitable nut to the base and used a mini-tripod.2. The focus drifts. When turned on, if you set the focus, after 10 minutes it needs re-focusing. It seems to be related to the camera heating up slightly when first connected. I compromised by focusing for the normal, connected state. This means that when first turned on the image is out-of-focus. During the first 10 minutes it drifts into focus and stays that way until I disconnect it later in the day. Photo is the webcam image.

Not bad, but has a fundamental flaw.
The picture quality is adequate, and seems to be capable of outputting 1920x1080 at the stated frame rate. However, as others have mentioned, the camera drifts out of focus as it warms up. You can adjust this manually, but the focus will continue to drift until temperature is reached, when it stabilises.Think very carefully about your application for this before buying - it will be fine for long term filming, but utterly no good for use on-demand use such as video calls.

It's fine but it's not plug & play
Pic quality's fine, build quality ok, manual focus is a bonus for me. I've never tried the sound. It is NOT plug and play despite the description - it comes with a driver disc but no capture software which is irritating but easy to get around. Manual is clearly for a different model - but who needs a manual for a webcam anyway?
