Better then what I had before

Do not waste your money on this useless piece of junk! Having the Ranger name I had decent hopes for this radio despite little information found on Google. The disappoint began before I even hooked it up. The first knob I turned actually had a crunchy and yet somehow a mushy feel to it. Every knob had at least an eighth of an inch of play before any adjustment was ever made. The channel selector while not nearly as mushy it was still an unpleasant and inaccurate POS. Often times it would skip several channels at a time. The receive, even when using ANL+NB always had an annoying high frequency buzz. In the car ANL+NB actually increased this buzz. The noise was still present when connected directly connected to an extra car battery outside of my car without an antenna connected. The talkback feature was weak and garbled. The volume adjustment is entirely to sensitive. Just opening it to about one fifth is louder than some radios I have owned in the past at their loudest setting! Last but not least the included software does not work. It will launch and run but trying to change any setting results in an error message. The message states that so and so file in E:\\ is not found. OF COURSE ITS NOT FOUND! \\ is not a proper directory structure... I can not stress this enough DO NOT BUY THIS RADIO!

I returned this item because the TFT display didn't work properly. The "main" screen that shows the frequency counter (like in the picture) would after a unspecific amount of time start wavering from where it's supposed to be at e.g.: channel 19 should read 27.185khz the counter would eventually start going down in numbers to the point the counter wouldn't display at all. Sometimes after sitting for a while it would start "counting back up" but not every time. Shutting the radio off for maybe 5-10 minutes would correct this issue, however it would just do it again after awhile. It didn't matter what channel your on it would do it on every one. When you key up the mic it would then show the correct frequency even if the counter had disappeared when recieving. I see this as a problem that could lead to other issues due to slide from the channel indicator, all the readouts are on this digital display and it did this from DAY ONE, OUT OF THE BOX. Cool and unique radio otherwise, size of radio is irregular as it is the width of a standard cobra or any other CB radio but the length of an export radio (galaxy, Stryker, etc) so any mounts or cases would be one off deals.

It’s a Top of the line unit, very happy with it.

Muy mala está compra, un radio nuevo pero viejo en tecnología no servía el conector de la antena. Abusados los que están iniciando con este bonito pasatiempo. No lo recomiendo. El envío bien en tiempo y la devolución gracias a Dios también bien.

So far, so good. I don't like that when you turn it off, then turn it back on, it goes back to Chanel 9, but I'll deal with it. I like it for the most part, though.
