Austrialpin GT Cobra Polymer Buckle System

Ordered this as an alternative to the all metal GT Cobra buckle, made by the same company, to make a tactical belt for a class. I ordered the 1.5" buckle which fits 1.5" webbing perfectly. The buckle itself is a bit bigger than 2" wide, too wide and thick to thread through a pair of Propper Tactical 2" belt loops, I've had to remove the male end from the web belt to thread the belt through the pant loops. The female side of the buckle has a single opening for webbing, this side of the webbing has to be either sewed back on itself or tacked/riveted together to secure the loose end. The male side has a spring loaded "divider" in the opening, the belt does cinch down tight when you pull on the free end. The buckle is supposed be good to 500 lbs, haven't tested it and don't plan too, but it does secure tightly. Buckle releases with a pinch of the upper and lower tabs. I'm so far very happy with the quality, it does NOT feel cheaply made. I'll follow up on this review in a few months of use.

Great buckle. Use it with Uncle Mike's 2" duty belt with the inner hook/loop fabric. This combination is my new SWAT/training/range setup. (In the past I used the Condor Gen II Battle Belt with a Bison Last Chance nylon inner belt. I got tired of that setup riding up/down and moving side to side with movement: running, bending, kneeling, jumping, etc. and getting hot in the summer.)I use an inner hook/loop belt in my pants and the Uncle Mike's adheres to it securely and stays in place all day long. I typically carry two Glock mags, two AR mags, cuff pouch w/cuffs, Glock 21 in Safari ATS holster, Max Mini Rolly Poly, and a Blue Force triple mag Ten-Speed pouch on the back. The GT Cobra Polymer works perfectly, snaps together and stays together until I release it...no issues after several months of strenuous use. At the time of purchase Amazon had the only buckle I could find online and it was a good price. This setup is much less expensive then the Condor/Bison combo and works much better.It did take a bit of time to work the belt in with the buckle...consider it a break-in period of a couple of days. Other than that, when I fasten the buckle and I hear the double 'clicks', I know it's good to go.

Excellent cobra build out of nylon or polymer of some sort. Very good buckle used to make my own tsa friendly belt to keep pants up and carry things.

It buckles...like...a buckle and overall it's buckliness is unmatched. I daresay that it is the best buckle, the apotheosis if buckledom...if there were a god of buckles this would be his or her living incarnation sent to this mortal realm to spread the word of buckle.

Loved the buckle when I first started wearing it on my Duty Belt. The buckle started to squeak when I would get in/out of my patrol car.After about 10 months, one of the internal springs collapsed. Now the male side of the buckle partially unlatches under a load. I ordered a aluminum buckle, it's so much nicer!
