anyone know the weight of the empty bottle? I'd like to deduct 425g from my bottle's weight and know how much CO2 is left

Carefully read the codes stamped on the shoulder of the cartridge. One of them is the "tare weight" of the empty cartridge, indicated with the code "T". In my case it reads "T0.66KG". I just weighed the cartridge on my kitchen scale and it's 727g. I made a note of it when new and it was 1098g, so I'm getting close to the end. I use about 13g of CO2 per bottle to get it as fizzy as I like, so I have 4-5 bottles left.

Does it work with DrinkMate? I like my fizzy water without apartheid.

Sorry, don't know DrinkMate. You need to use the specific bottle that comes with the device to hold the liquid being "fizzed", because it can maintain an air-tight high pressure seal with the device as it fizzes the liquid.

After only 3 liters my 60L co cylinder is not getting the water very fizzy; how does one know if a co cylinder is defective?

make sure you are using cold water, I use a Brita filter, and keep it in the Refrigerator, weight the tank, full is 1090 grams, empty 700 grams

I ordered this spare cylinder for my aunt because the Sodastream dealer here in Korea refused to recharge the one that came with her penguin shaped dispenser. It was no fooling exactly what the doctor ordered. My aunt loves her machine and is very satisfied with all of the products she has used from Sodastream. The company that shipped this purchase (Angel something) did a great job in packaging and expediting shipment. I have read some people's criticisms about the price. My aunt does not have to worry about the price, just as she does not have to ask what the insurance costs or mileage the new car she is buying gets. Wish I could say the same for myself. In-laws are happy + wife is happy = happy pappy.
