A versatile, easy to use multimeter that tests insulation resistance
This ProLogic multimeter is not cheap but if you need to test the resistance of cable insulation it is cost-effective. Ordinary multimeters that cost $100 or less are not capable of testing cable insulation. Because I am installing a heated floor in my bathroom I had to test the cable insulation for leakage that could trip the GFCI device I also ordered a more expensive meter (the Fluke multimeter) in order to compare the readings it produced with those that this multimeter produced. Both produced virtually identical readings with one exception. The ProLogic multimeter produced a reading of "greater than 2 Giga-ohms" whereas the Fluke multimeter produced a reading of "greater than 11 Giga-ohms." The Fluke is clearly a superior, industrial strength meter for checking insulation resistance but it does little else so it lacks the versatility of the ProLogic multimeter. I sent th Fluke back and kept the ProLogic.

Most superb
I used it next to our $1200.00 company owned fluke and it preformed just as good on a know hard to detect 500 hp DC motor. It's not as rugged as the fluke, but the cost far out weighs that. It's nice if your business is just getting off the ground and you don't need the high expence.

Very economical Meghometer
This was a GREAT value for the ability to run 1000 volts for a insulation resistant test. Other Meghometers run twice the price or more. Just a solid product for the price. Highly recommended for electrical work!

For what I need, it does the job
Iโm only a tile contractor, not an electrician. So, I cannot fully understand all the different uses that you can get out of this tester. I had to get this to test heat cable for in floor heating for my customers.
