Excellent, sweet sound.. no noise
i have a few different Pickups i use for different purposes. They are Guitar pickups that i sometimes would put on my M'Biras (Kalimba like instruments). But i always hard a little hum in the background with them.. if i tried plugging it into an amp there would be howling feedback..i wanted to record the sound on one of my M'Biras, and the humming sound could not be removed without also removing the quality of the instrument's sound.. So i went hunting.. & then remembered i already have the KNA NG-1 Piezo Pickup on my Nylon String Guitar.. Then i saw this KNA UP-2 and thought if its as good as the one i already have.. then problem solved.. i bought it.. and it's levels above what i was using on my M'Biras before. Putting the putty on as an adhesive helps to catch the vibrations, with no hum or howling feedback.. and this KNA UP-2 also has a volume control on it.. so you can decrease or increase the volume and add gain with whatever you plug it into.. it's damn near perfect..

Works and looks great!!I
I used this KNA UP-2 pickup on a clay pot drum and it sounds incredible!I am surprised at the wide range of frequencies it is able to pick up.The volume control on the pickup is extremely handy and enables me to really dial in the sound. It adheres to the surface of the drum easily. The instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. The wood finish of the pickup is aesthetically pleasing and looks great on the my instrument. It is at a great price and I plan to buy another one.

Good for the price
The adhesive sticker they give is a bit thick which causes the pickup to only catch it when you play loudly. The putty was as hard as a rubber eraser but warm water did do the trick like they advised. The putty did a better job at picking up sound than the foam sticker, but it does not stick very well. I might just use some super glue to attach this so it can pick up on sound better. For the price, it really isn't bad. The gain knob does not perform well with the foam sticker because of the sound dampening. Still though, I'm happy for the price point and it will do the job. It's hard to find an acoustic pickup for a sitar lol, and finding the right placement was easy with the putty allowing me to move it around until it was optimal.Might order another for my other acoustic Asian instruments.Definitely looks nice too, found it looks like it was meant to be on the sitar with that nice lacquered wood look.

Great sound, easy to use and volume control!
Easy to put in my instrument (ukulele) and sounded great. I love that I can adjust the volume some from it so I don’t have to bend down to the amplifier. I also like that I can use the same one on different instruments.A really good option to play an acoustic instrument through an amplifier.

does the job
The reason I gave it just 4 stars is because the glue on the back came loose. Not the glue to the surface of the instrument, but the glue to the back of the pickup itself would not hold under any load. I finally got some wood glue and glued the pickup to the sticky pad. I hope this makes sense. Otherwise, It works well, and gives a good tone.

I broke it and it still works!
I have used the KNA pickups on a couple of my ukuleles, and I really enjoy the quality that they provide, as well as the easy install. The size of a contact pick up is really important - you don’t want your hand to hit it while you’re playing, which can create a lot of unnecessary noise. The price on this item is just right, not too expensive, and definitely not a cheap flimsy item. It fits onto any acoustic instrument, though I’ve only tried it on Ukulele. It uses a contact putty, which I’ve never had an issue with, but for some reason with this one, I was having trouble getting it to stick (it’s fine now) and I pressed a little hard, and cracked the device a little bit in the process, before I had ever used it. My heart sank because I felt so stupid, and I know I love these pick ups!Upon using it, no issues! I didn’t break it nearly to the point I thought I had, and don’t have any issues plugging in the cable to use it.A great option for any acoustic instrument with no electric capability, highly recommended!

Works well with stationary instruments
This works pretty well. But it makes noise if you touch it or move the cord. I stuck it to my dulcimer, taped the cord so it wouldn't make noise, and wrapped it around the end of the instrument to put it away. I would recommend it if you are using an instrument that you don't move around much. It works on my autoharp as well. Using it with a ukulele didn't work as well because I tend to move around a bit.

Great Ukulele pickup -- KNA UP-2
Great sounding, pick-up for ukulele, great size, volume control is a plus, portable and affordable with plenty of "punch". Mounts and removes without marring or damaging instrument finish. A great accessory for anyone wanting or needing to amplify the instrument through any amp, pedal, or other filter. It will be useful on gigs and to just have fun with experimenting with electronics I use with my guitar which is now possible with my ukes and not requiring drilling holes, running wires, and tightening bolts and screws, or having to adjust bridges. Probably works well on all size ukes and other acoustic instruments. Without question -- WORTH HAVINGDr. JWG
