This is high quality filament made in the USA with pride. Tolerances are better than +/-0.10mm and quality is guaranteed. Our filaments have been proven in most 3D printers including popular Reprap, ID3, MakerBot, Ultimaker, Afinia, Solidoodle, Printrbot, MakerGear, UP, and others. All filament comes on a plastic spool, vacuum sealed with desiccant, and packed in a corrugated box. Our materials are made only from the best virgin resins and produce the best products from your printer. We offer many different colors and materials including PLA, ABS, PC/ABS, HIPS, and others. We are a manufacturing company not just a distributor so we have the ability to produce custom colors/materials as well as custom sizes. If you extrude your own filament we also offer resin and color concentrates too, perfect for Filabot.

Excellent filament!
Update #1: I went through the whole 1kg spool of this on my Solidoodle 3. Almost half-way through my second spool. I use the 3D printer to prototype enclosures and other parts for various projects for myself and people. This material has been my go-to material for high-speed PLA prints. When you extrude this, it's almost gum-like, very flexible and sticky. I'm using a fan to cool this when going around external perimeters. It provides a very nice, almost glossy finish. It doesn't print well in resolutions lower than 0.2mm, but that's probably a limitation of the 0.4mm extruder nozzle that I have for high-speed prints. I will be trying this with a different 3D printer to do low-speed higher resolution prints at 0.1mm and will report back with my findings. Will order a third spool of this stuff soon.I was so excited to receive this, after having printed numerous things with ABS I was really looking forward to trying PLA. I was NOT disappointed! This material is awesome to print with. Already printed several things. Very high quality, very deep black color. I can't be happier. Awesome price, too! Thank you, I'll definitely be buying more from this particular seller.

I've tried alternate temps with only slightly better results. Truth be told
3D printers are finicky. I don't want to trash this filament because there is a POSSIBILITY that my issues are related to my setup. Also, as of today (Nov 2015) much of what constitutes a successful print is dialing in for the "sweet spot" of your filament. That being said. I have a lot of issues with my extruder's stepper slipping while using this filament. I've tried alternate temps with only slightly better results. Truth be told, I have only been printing for a year so take this review with a grain of salt.I can only compare my results with 2 other spools (Hatchbox) that have printed SO much better. It may be an issue on my end but the Hatchbox filament has given me almost zero problems. It could be my inexperience but this roll of black PLA has given me headaches.

Favorite.
I bought two roles of this in the past. In between I've used just about every other PLA filament sold on Amazon. As with any filament, it took a while to find the correct speed/temperature/height combinations to produce good prints with this. Now that I have I get reliably perfect prints at 30mm for small size, 70mm - 100mm for tall walls and medium size & 140mm/sec for large pieces. Temps range from 190 to 225 depending on speed and layer adhesion. I've found that black is one of the hardest colors to get right, especially with PLA. I use 3M blue painter's tape, AquaNet hairspray, and a 50 to 70 degree bed.I build and sell my own brand of 3D printer, so I'm very particular about the plastic parts that go into my build. I just ordered 4 more spools of this.Mar 13 update: 20 days later and I just bought another 4 spools of this black PLA. That's 10 spools total. I just hope they are never out when I want more.

Good Filament, Great Price!
This filament has been working excellent on my Printrbot Simple Metal. The particular roll I purchased has actually been the most consistent filament I've used so far. I've tweaked my Slic3r settings, and I'm getting quality, consistent prints every time. I trust my printer running with this stuff over night, without any supervision. The roll of filament came in shrink wrap, with desiccant to keep it dry. It's a favorite for me so far, I'll definitely buy this again next time! The price only makes it that much better. Check out the attached photos. I printed the filament stand with this roll of PLA.

Hatchbox vs. Filament Outlet PLA 1.75mm
I purchased 3Kg of the Hatchbox filament at the same time based on the reviews posted here and a Kg of the "Filament Outlet" PLA black. The difference between the 2 brands is HUGE. The Hatchbox prints amazingly well right out of the box, it is wound well on the spool, and the only complaint I have is that the hole in the spool is too small for the Printrbot metal filament holder. I print on a Printrbot Metal Simple and get very nice smooth print surfaces and no stringy artifacts with the Hatchbox. The "Filament Outlet" black PLA I ordered by comparison was wound too tightly on the spool which caused problems on prints, including the snapping off of filament because of the tension in the spool. Also, I have found with the "Filament Outlet" that there are inconsistencies in the filament, including short sections that are brittle and will snap, whereas a foot or two down the spool the filament will bend and not snap. Overall, I like the Hatchbox enough that it have become my filament of choice and I have followed up my original order with a second order for another 4Kg in additional colours.

Low price but Low Quality! Will not buy again.
Do not recommend this Filament. The quality is low and often clogs our printers. We have a video review with our printer settings and results: https://youtu.be/16FXdlo9uikOverview, we gave it 2 stars. The only reason it got stars was 1) Price is good 2) They offer a wide range of colorsCons: Low quality filament. When you unbox it you will notice the filament is not as smooth as your typical PLA filament. It has a courser texture and clogs our Makerbot Replicator 2 often.Summary: We will not use this filament ever again.

VERY nice filament for a great price!
Bought this for my Printrbot Simple Metal (Rev F). I was having issues getting the original filament that came with the Printrbot to stick to my platform (I don't have a heated bed--yet). However, this stuff sticks like superglue! No settings changes and my prints were adhering so well that they would pull the painters tape right off with the print. Wonderful stuff, used the entire spool without a single issue. I've already bought my 2nd spool! Comes out a beautiful glossy black. I printed this at 210C without any issues whatsoever.
