Does what it says
Works as described. Takes some patience to learn an there is still the luck of how the drops interact with each other.

Takes a while to get the hang of it
It is not very difficult to set it up, but you must have the appropriate stands, cables, etc or it will be cumbersome. Once you have it all set up, its a trial and error situation that will take a few hours to get the hang of it. Mechanically it works well, MIOPS could do a better job of producing Youtube tutorials, the best one I found was The Slanted Lense. Although it took a lot of tweaking using the parameters they suggested.

Simply didn't work.
The instructions were a joke. Additionally, after figuring out how to connect it to a tripod correctly, and plugging it in, it came right on and I was able to connect via the Miops app with no issue. There was one tiny defect with the device, and that is that it didn't drip, when you told it to. It did leak from the water storage tube, but nothing I did could coerce the solenoid to actually release a drip for me to photograph.Incredibly disappointed, as I had been looking forward to this, literally, for years.

Useful but could use improvement
I had great hope for the product and am still using it but there are issues. First, there’s a fair amount of variation in drop size and timing aren’t. This is especially true with multi-drop sequences. Second, the arm that comes with it is so weak it’s useless. Last, though the app is nice there’s a bit of ambiguity in the timing settings. For instance, is the trigger delay from the last drop or from the start of the sequence. If it’s from the last drop you obviously need to change it constantly when you vary any other timing setting which is a pain in the rear.

It does a great job
I got interested in doing water drop photography when it was an assigned subject at my camera club. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to do it but without the actual hardware I had to improvise. I used a small cap with a hole and kept shooting as each drop fell. The results were OK but by that time I was hooked. I saw in the videos that most people used the MIOPS Splash Drop Photography Kit so I bought it here. It's a fairly simple device to use as it pairs using Bluetooth to my iPhone and I control the size of the drops, the timing between the drops and the delay of the flash or camera. Since we're talking digital, it's certainly easy to shoot 500 shots and pull the best ones from the set.The kit comes with a cable that connects to the flash and I had to purchase the second cable to go to the camera separately. The drop assembly comes with a bracket that holds the unit but that bracket needs to be attached to a tripod or a mic stand. Then just set up the background, get a cup or small bowl to put the water in and make sure you put that cup into a larger bowl or tray to catch the overflow of water since you need to fill the cup to the rim and the additional water from the dropper causes the water to overflow the cup. I add Xanthan Gum to make the water thick and "goopy" and some food coloring and then the fun begins.I'm having a lot of fun and turning out some really great images.

Repeatability in question. Update
I have had a chance to try this unit for two days. First, I must mention that the instructions and manual are horribly written; must be read several times to achieve any kind of result. Second, there is no mention as to what to do with the Settings page; there is a parameter, Pulse Length, which does not appear anywhere in the manual. I had to contact Support in order to get a halfway answer. And finally, repeatability is non existent because the inaccuracy in the timing. I will continue evaluating the unit but things must improve in order to keep it.Follow up (9/06/18): I found out there is mention of the Pulse Length in the brief manual but there is no indication as to how to set it. The worst part is that this device in very inconsistent in its timing for firing the strobes with no repeatability. I am seriously considering returning this unit.Update: 12/14/2018 I decided to return this unit to Amazon only a couple of days after purchase; I could never understand why this device was offered without the mounting kit: the unit cannot be used hand held and expect to obtain water drop collision, so you must purchase the mounting kit for additional $20.00. There is mo other way way to secure it to tripod since it does not even have a threaded adapter.

Easy to use | Great results
Overall an outstanding product for the price. Was able to get solid results within the first 2 hours of use. It comes with ALMOST everything you need. You will want a sturdy tripod for the mounting arm that can handle the weight of the unit and the water. Also, this package only comes with a flash trigger cable. I personally prefer to use the camera trigger so if that is the case for you, you will want to make sure you have the correct camera trigger cable. The app was intuitive and easy to use. The manual could be better, but honestly YouTube videos are far more educational and there are plenty to help get you started.Be patient. Finding the right delay, drop size and trigger timing can be difficult at first, but once you have it dialed in for your drop distance it's smooth sailing.

Almost a 5 star item.
If you are not familiar with the item, you will need to be BEFORE you purchase. If your flashes do not use a PC SYNC, you will need to purchase extra items. Package does not come with a cord to trigger your camera. This is a huge pain. All cords should be provided or an option to purchase cords with splash kit should be provided.
