Seymour DuncanSL59-1 Little 59 Humbucker Strat Pickup - White Bridge

Wow! What a sound, a full, strong throaty bridge sound! This has added wonderful lead sounds to my Duo Sonic that I've been modding. This pickup in the bridge is now paired with a Silver Lace sensor, single coil pickup in the neck and I have two fine worlds of both single coil and humbucker distinctive sounds. I am psyched and very pleased at the versatility and playability of my new Duo Sonic. Thanks Seymour for the Lil '59 , and Lace for the quiet and strong Silver Sensor.

I had originally installed a JB Jr and found that it was too dark and overloaded on middle tone. So I took a chance and decided to try this based on the Seymour Duncan website which showed it had a tone profile with more upper and lower, but less middle than the JB Jr. It is perfect, with just the right amount of upper and lower bite that I was looking for. It seems much hotter overall than the JB, so I find I need to either back off a tad on volume or lower the pickup height lest it get too "gainy". If you lower height, it will negatively effect volume balance with the other pickups. After some experimentation, what works best for me is just to nudge volume down a notch or two till I hit the sweet spot.

Plain and simple, this thing does what it says on the tin, it's got a full humbucker sound, and it's ridiculously easy to install. It took longer for my soldering iron to heat up than it took to put this pickup in. Seymour Duncan has really fantastic resources like wiring diagrams on their site that make this even easier. Best of all, I've wired it to auto-split when I go to Position 2 for that classic out-of-phase single coil sound, without having to do any ridiculous trickery, and I can flip back to Position 1 and it's right back to full-on humbucker. It's the best of both worlds. A+ to Seymour Duncan.

The pickup went in my ‘97 American Strat to replace the stock single coil. It looks great and was easy to install. When used on dirty/distortion, there’s so much midrange that I have to eq the heck out of it to sound good. Maybe it’s fine for most but I’m not a huge fan.

Great little pickup - runs great on 500k tone pots, clean as ever and very twangy, the way a tele should be. Not completely accurate to tele 59’s but close enough to where it’s not easy to tell the difference.

Simply put, this little pickup rocks! Perfect in a strat.
