RED Shallot Set (1 lb Bag ) No GMO Heirloom Bulb, Plant Spring and Fall Garden Vegetable

I was very pleased at the quantity received and the condition they were in. High quality plants and having to leave them a week before planting didn’t hurt at allVery well packed in good soil.I recommend them

Silly me, I was expecting something resembling the picture. Nope, I received 6, count them, 6 shallots. 5 of them had the consistency of a banana left on the counter for 3 weeks, the 6th was just starting to rot. The truly sad part is the person packaging those 6 shallots had to know they were rotten. One star is being far too generous. Had they not been rotten, I could have eaten them they were that big.

I got plenty of shallot sets, which appear to be healthy. I planted 25 of them in pots, as I rent and do not actually have a planting space. I also live in Panama, with a lot of rain. I planted them in the beginning of the dry season, will water as needed, and hopefully will have enough sun to get shallots in four months, before the sun goes away. Some of them are popping up, and I am anxious to see what I end up with!

Mine came with maybe 8 or 9 bulbs total. They were big and almost the size of what you’d buy in the store. It wasn’t the multiple small bulb sets from the picture. Still planted them and we will see…

They are absolutely delicious!!

They show a pic of a bunch of "seed" shallot cloves-- what I got was a 1 lb or whatever of shallots ready for the frying pan ... great--- but planting a fully bulged out shallot is kinda pointless.... I was able to split 2 of then into cloves okay for planting... but still, not what I would call "shallot sets" ... I have ordered elsewhere and already received true shallot sets.....I also ordered some onion sets from this company--- also 1 star....see other review. The onion sets were FAR worse!!!!

This bulbs were sent and arrived quickly BUT they were shipped in a sealed plastic bag. After two hot days in transit, they arrived steamy and starting to mold. If they had been shipped in a paper bag they would have been in great shape. They looked like they started out big and plump. I think most will be salvageable.It is not good to seal any living thing in plastic and it is bad for the environment!!

Outstanding shipping and product! I easily got 30-40 bulbs in great shape. Slighlty over the pound advertised. I immediately planted about 20 of them and they are already starting to sprout just 4 days later. After ordering lots of various garden seeds, bulbs, products and tools with typically disappointing results, it's refreshing to have my expectations exceeded! Gonna try them in a few long pots to have on hand near the herb garden. Love shallots and so excited to have my own fresh ones for cooking! Thanks!
