Fit old holes perfect, was same thing put on years ago

Unfortunately I made a rookie mistake and took an ATV off my trailer after disconnecting the trailer from my truck. You know the rest of the story. The result was my plate holder getting smashed. This is an exact replacement and was easy to install. Other than the wire splices, looks OEM!

Used to rig up a license plate bracket and light on my spare tire carrier to keep me legal. Been running for a couple years now, still works. Only "down side" is it is a single wire hookup; no ground. If you're connecting to a fiberglass trailer or other place that doesn't have a path to ground through the mount, you'll have to add a wire. No biggie, since you'll be splicing in the hot wire anyway. See photo, I soldered a wire to one of the lugs internally. 12g thhn was way over kill, but it's what I had on hand at the time.Also pictured is 120° 194 wedge led bulb. 99¢ on SuperBrightLeds in cool white. Matches the factory LEDs on my truck well. Anything more than one of these little guys is way too bright! Unless you're in to lighting up the road surface and blinding traffic behind you 😆.

This product could be stronger but it is very adequate for the task. It has a replaceable bulb which is nice compared to the built-in LED bulbs on many other items like this one.

THIS IS NOT STEEL AS ADVERTISED... BUT IT WILL WORK FOR WHAT I NEED IT FOR FABBING A SPARE TIRE MOUNT ON A JEEP CHEROKEE XJ. YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICE... BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE LISTED AS BEING STEEL!!

I bought this to install on the back of my hitch cargo hauler. I drilled two holes to mount the unit on the cargo hauler. Unit comes with a single positive lead and depends on the chassis connection for ground. The cargo hauler wasn't getting a good ground so I had to run an extra wire from the hitch power plug. This required drilling an extra hole in the housing of the M436B to run the wire through and another in the metal bracket holding the lamp as the ground attachment point using a nut, bolt, and a couple washers. Total project took about 30 minutes but the light works great. The simple design made my modifications easy to do and the unit appears to be well enough made so that it will last.

I actually bought this for the light cover, the license portion is just sitting around. Why does no one simply sell the light cover portion? It is the part that is most likely to be broken in an accident or simply go missing.
