I bought both the ladies and men version of this watch. The ladies version came in the orig.nal box. the men version was just a carton Bulova Box. The watch is beautiful .

This really is a nice looking watch, IMO. The black and gold compliment each other very well, and the dial is easy to read. The quality seems very high, too. This is my first Bulova watch, and I did some research before ordering and got an impression that they're generally nice watches.It's got some heft to it and is certainly noticeable on my wrist, but not too bad. While not a lightweight watch, it certainly isn't as heavy as others that I have. It might be about you expect from a watch with a thick metal band.Speaking of the band...wow, I had a heck of a time adjusting it. You need to knock pins out of the links to remove them, and they include no tools to do it. This isn't my first watch like this, though, so I use a hammer and a punch to do it. I needed to remove three links per side. The first side wasn't a big deal and the pins came out well enough. On the second side, one of the pins took me about an hour to get out. It was so hard to get out that I scratched the link it's in (which isn't one that I took out, so it's still on the band). That upset me, to have such a nice watch with a pin that was stuck in so tight that I had to work so hard to remove it, only to damage the band in the process. I'd blame it all on myself, but that pin was unusually difficult to remove.Once adjusted, though, it fits great. For this price, I think that it should have come with the tools to adjust it. I ordered a metal bracelet once, and for far less money, it came with a rather nice tool set to adjust it.Functionally, my only complaint is that the inset 24-hour dial isn't properly synced with the main hour hand. My 24-hour dial doesn't get to the hour marker until the main hour hand is a couple of minutes past the hour. A small thing, maybe, but a ~$400 watch shouldn't be out of sync like that.Do I like it? Yes, I do. I don't think it's perfect, though, with poor alignment of the 24-hour hand and the main hour hand, and the unnecessary difficulty involved in changing the size of the band. It's nice enough that I'll give it four stars on how much I like it, but I honestly wouldn't pay more than $100 for it.

The first thing you notice is that this is a striking timepiece that definitely makes a statement,The second thing, as you pick it up, is that this is no lightweight kid's watch, but a very hefty and weighty piece of jewelry that, indeed, may not be for everyone, but is definitely for those who like a bold pieceThen, you notice the third thing: How un-necessarily annoying it is to get the really simple (once you get'em!) directions for setting the thing!There is a booklet that is labeled instructions and warranty. Given what the instructions turn out to be, they could easily be printed in this booklet without need any additional paper or much more ink. But NOOO! Instead they send you to a webpage that is thoroughly confusing and a "manual" filled with weird illustrations that are no help whatsoever and, finally, to a customer service number where you DO get help that you wouldn't have needed if somebody had used simple common sense to begin with!But it IS a REALLY nifty watch!

We gave this as a gift to our twenty nine year old son and he thought it was beautiful but didn't like it while his significant other said it was absolutely sharp looking and she encouraged him on. I agree with her. This is a well built precision watch that is eye-catching and an elegant touch for a well dressed man. Our son notwithstanding, I think this is an excellent choice for a gift. I know I would be thrilled to receive this watch that makes a statement with its bold black features balanced by gold and sapphire accent tones. It is water resistant and will do fine in the rain but isn't intended for leaving on while swimming. I recommend it.
