Pretty easy install. Worked as expected.

My husband had installed a 4'Hx6'W wooden gate with self-closing/self-locking hardware as required by our township because of the swimming pool. End of 1st day gate was already sagging. End of day 3 it was sagging so much it was touching the ground so it didn't close and lock by itself. My s-i-l said we needed a turnbuckle kit so I found this and ordered it. It came the next day (love next day deliveries) and it was a breeze to install. It lifted the gate right up where it needed to be. Everything is working perfect now and the gate hasn't sagged a bit. It's exactly what we needed so the gate would work properly.

02/15/22 -I have a large sagging gate with a different hinge configuration. In my gate, there is a hinge exactly where the top corner bracket/brace is supposed to go, which prevented me from installing the bracket in the top corner. I didn't know this would affect the installation before I bought this product, so I had to improvise by putting the turnbuckle hook directly on to a bolt thread of my gates hinge (see pictures). After that I pulled it as taut as possible.It was a little difficult to work with the wire and the cable clamps, since the cable is a bit thick and the clamps don't hold together by itself.After the installation, my gate's sag seems to have been corrected somewhat! You could see from the ground in the picture, how the bottom part of the gate was dragging! But I can close the gate without it touching the ground.What could have been better are:(a) longer wire(b) better clamps(c) installation instructions in the pictures in the product page so people can make an informed decision before buying.FYI - use a 10mm wrench/spanner for tightening the nut of the clamps (doesn't say in the instructions). A second person to help you while installing this is also better.I'll update my review if I the wire and the whole system doesn't hold up.

What I needed.

Fairly to install, when it works, and it could be better. I installed 3 of them. It was difficult to tension, because they barely large enough to get a screwdriver in it to get leverage. The turnbuckle is cheap aluminum and not long enough to allow more than 2" of tensioning. One turnbuckle stipped out, and I had to buy a replacement at the hardware store. The turnbuckle on another seems like it's about to strip out, but I got it to stay. RECOMMEND using steel or making it large enough to get nuts in it.

I was surprised at the reviews I’ve read. I installed this about 3 months ago and haven’t had any problems with it. It is installed on a 4 1/2’ by 6’ tall pressure treated lumber gate. Others had said that some parts were cheaply made but I didn’t have that problem. My gate no longer sags and I am very happy about it. As far as the installation instructions, I can’t comment because I used a you tube video to learn how to do it which made it very easy.

All reviews on this product we’re good. I bought it and it was easy to install on my gate. But as I was tightening it the hook stripped the turnbuckle. It’s absolutely no use whatsoever. Would not recommend. Very cheaply made.

My husband was unconvinced that would work but it did work for the large gate he installed on our back porch so that we could easily load groceries, furniture etc. Great product!! Stabilizes the gate very nicely. No sag when it’s open!
