Traceable Digital Pocket Thermometer with Calibration, 302°F; 8" Long-Stem

I use these to calibrate data loggers. The NIST certs are legit and include the uncertainty data. I buy a new one each year, but can safely say that the old ones still give accurate readings. BTW, my sous vide makes a great cal bath. And Boveda bags are adequate RH cals.

I have used these Thermometers for lab use for 20 years. perfect NIST traceable thermometer to calibrate all your expensive BS real quick. Comes with acceptable certificate and at the cost.. is disposable when the cert expires. Fisher Brand to this one.. good job!

This thing has a nice, long battery life. I have it on 24/7 and stuck in the top probe port of a lab incubator, so I can keep some chemicals dissolved in water that love to crash out at room temperature, but are happy above 30 C. So far it's worked quite well for this purpose. The display is mostly easy to read (up close anyway), though it is rotated 90 degrees if you have it sticking into something perpendicular to the ground. All in all, pretty happy with it for my purposes, but I haven't come close to pushing this thing to its limits.

Got this because its NIST traceable, which is required in the laboratory. Good quality. Takes about 20 seconds to stabilize in a liquid solution. Precision to tenth of a degree. After a couple years, accidentally dropped it into our aquarium. Fully submerged for about 5 seconds and it no longer works. My fault, of course. Besides that, all good.

Simple to use. Gives a fast readout over a wide range of temperatures, from cold to hot.

Excellent quality I use this to measure the temperature of oil in a rebuilt VW flat four engine.

I used these thermometers for years and they were reliable back then, but something has clearly changed. After they became unavailable for a while, I was glad to see them listed again and bought four. Within one day, one of them failed completely — the display went black. Worse, three days later we lost a batch of product because the other thermometers were all giving the same incorrect readings. We double-checked with a mercury thermometer, and every one of them was off by the same amount. That kind of systemic error is unacceptable, especially for a product sold with a certificate of calibration and traceability. Clearly, something in their quality-control or calibration process has slipped. I would never buy these again — the cost of the product we lost far outweighs any savings or convenience. One star across the board.

NIST certification is what I needed. It agrees with a mercury calibration thermometer.
