Will this hold a little frame revolver with 4 inch barrel

Absolutely, I've reviewed it below and added pics of a GP100 2.5" bbl -- the barrel length is easy to adjust for and can even accommodate longer (6+") barrels; anything over roughly 4" though will likely stick out. I wouldn't really recommend going over 4" because the only thing protecting the crown and barrel at that point is the length-adjustment piece {it will still be exposed from the top and bottom).
