Absolutely insane value!
This is my first Eafengrow purchase after seeing a few reviews online. Quality of this thing is top notch, I've had knives 10 times the price that aren't as smooth and well finished. The blade is perfectly centered when it's closed, it's super smooth opening and closing, the scales are really nice (jade G10), the weight is nice, and all the hardware is in perfect shape. It's definitely bigger than it looks in the pics, but it's on par with my other bigger folders. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and will be looking at other models as well.

Best Sub-$30.00 Knife on the planet. It's that good...
I was so pleasantly surprised at the evident quality overall of the knife. Fit, finish and attention to detail have made this knife and knife company a winner!I have several other USA and offshore made knives and have yet to find a better dollar/quality ratio than this knife. It is that good. The fit and finish are top level, it arrived in a nice little padded box and quite sharp. A little work with a fine/superfine stone will have it ripping phone book pages with ease. A super value , you will not be disappointed. in your purchase. It's so good that its got me searching for other knives made by this company, from the reviews on other models I am confident that this is a constant for the company, not a one-off fluke. The Chinese are evidently coming around and learning that many USA customers are willing to pay a little more for a durable, quality product made from decent knife steels and scale options. Great job, simply fantastic....

OK for the price-point but needs improvements.
This is a large folding knife, has some weight and feels solid in the hand. I like the blade shape and it takes a great edge. The blade pivot is super-smooth and blade retention is good when folded-closed, won't shake-open. Has nice jimping for a thumb-rest. The blade is centered in the handle and locks-up solid with no play or wobble. Now the dislikes - it has a one-position pocket clip for right-hand carry only, the spine of the blade has rounded corners which makes it useless as a fire-striker, the scales have some sharp edges that require fine-sanding, only 50% of the liner-lock edge engages the back of the blade - can be pushed-forced over to about 90%. The G10 scales have been buffed to smooth (slippery) for such a large knife - needs more texture for a better/solid grip. Overall - this knife seems more like a prototype-design with no specific purpose in-mind - with improvements could be useful as an outdoor/camping/hunting/bushcraft knife - or at home in a factory/shop environment. Until then it's an unfinished work-in progress looking for a role to fill. If you're going to put a nice large D2 steel blade in a handle, then finish the trim and give it a purpose in life (and adjust the liner-lock for a better more secure fit).

This is an excellent knife. The price is about as fair as you can get.
You will not see too many products that have earned so many 5 star reviews. There is a good reason for the reviews in the case of this knife. It is worth the price asked for it, and then some. As many of you know, knives are an item regarding which many people feel cheated when they consider the price they paid. For example, I recently purchased a Protech godfather automatic knife for about $200.00. I was very displeased about the way the knife blade was ground: one side of the knife was ground at a different angle from the other side, making it impossible to get a consistent edge on the blade. It would have cost me $30.00 to ship the knife back to Protech in order for them to make a decision as to whether the knife was really as crappy as I claimed. Rather than wasting money on the useless Protech knife, which really is the junkiest knife I have ever seen, I decided to spend $30.00 on this knife. This is an infinitely better knife than the Protech knife. The handle is durable and the blade is strong and both elements are made from materials that have proved themselves over time. The Protech knife has a crappy anodized aluminum handle, a misshapen blade, crappy little baby screws that hold it together and I have read in a number of different places that if you should be so unfortunate as to drop the Protech knife, there is a good chance the blade will break off at the tip. I am so satisfied with this Eafengrow knife that I have decided to throw the Protech Godfather knife in the trash. It really does look like something that belongs there.

The steel is not D2 it’s aus 8. False advertising!!!
The knife it’s self is great. I have a couple in d2 in different colors. They are advertising d2 and is priced as such. Aus 8 blade should be about $15 cheaper.

Beautiful bang for your buck!
Everything about this knife is pretty amazing, the build quality is spot on. The natural scales have a nice Jade color to them. It is razor sharp and takes a new edge very good. I find myself carrying this as my EDC more than my Elishewitz, Chris Reeves or Benchmade knives. For the $ you simply cannot beat it! Don’t be skeptical, but it and you’ll be surprised!

Too good for the price.
Shockingly good blade for the money. Honed it on whetstone and strop and it cuts thick rope like butter. Sharper than my razor blade knife. Holds its edge too. Handle feels nice as well. You can flick it open with one hand and it locks very solid. This is what I imagine a $100 pocket knife would be like. It’s a gem.

Difficult to Open
The "flip" action is very stiff. After a couple drops of oil it worked better, but was still difficult to flip open one handed. Other knives from this maker have been very easy to flip open. With use I expect the action to loosen up and I will update this review if warranted. Otherwise, the knife was sharp out of the box and very well made.
