Amazon.com Gift Card in a Greeting Card (Various Designs)

Great gift especially for a teem!

This is an awesome deal. I remember years ago I tried searching for Amazon gift cards on Amazon, and I couldn't find anything, other than gift "cards" that you could purchase, and then the recipient would receive an email only - no physical goods to speak of. And you know what? In my opinion, that sucks. Ya, there doesn't *need* to be a physical card, but when I give a gift, I'd like to be able to *give* that person something tangible. Enter: The Amazon.com Gift Card.So, it's great that they offer a number of different designs at a number of different price points. One caveat: on the Amazon Mobile App on Android, it can be confusing as to how to choose the denomination and card design that you want. This is best purchased from the regular website. I got 3 different gift cards on here, each $20. Each arrived as promised. And why do I say these are a great value? Free 1 or 2 day shipping. AND, you get the gift card at no charge. In my opinion, the art on these cards are classy, and they're not printed on cheap paperstock either.So, why didn't I give this 5 stars? I think Amazon could be a little clearer that adding a "Gift Note" to your order doesn't get the message printed on the greeting card. The greeting card arrives to you inside of a plastic mailing envelope, with the gift card mounted in the greeting card, and an envelope. The package is more suited for it to be delivered to *you*, and then you write your note, and then mail or hand it off to your recipient. I think I read some other reviews from people saying that they ordered these to deliver straight to their recipient, and the person received the aforementioned package. Oh, and if you order add a Gift Note during checkout, it prints on bottom of the packing slip... Not exactly ideal presentation, when there's a brand new greeting card and envelope in the same shipping sleeve...[Update] I see they've since updated the description to mention the above "Gift Note" issue, and how exactly it is packaged.... Way to go, Amazon! This has been changed from 4 to 5 stars.

Everyone gets caught up in life from time to time. On a couple of occasions, I have found myself in an "oh, fudge-sicles" moment where I realize that there is a gift-giving event a day or two away -- and the whole shopping thing hasn't even crossed my mind yet. And, of course, this always happens when I have no time to head to the mall. Thank you, Amazon, for guaranteeing that this little back-up plan will arrive the next day. It may not be the most imaginative gift out there, but it's better than saying "Oops" or having to come up with an excuse.Fortunately, there is also a wide array of cover cards to tailor your gift to the particular occasion (except maybe an "I'm Sorry" theme in the event that you're already late). They are fairly simple, nothing fancy or of the quality that you would find at a store, but they'll do the trick.As for using the gift cards, it's a snap. The process isn't complicated at all, and I've never experienced any complications with redeeming them. Neither have I heard complaints from people to whom I've given cards -- one of whom was my mother who is rather technologically challenged. If she can figure it out on her own, I have plenty of faith in the rest of the world! I have read other reviews where some people have encountered problems, but I would assume that these issues are few and far between.There is something worth noting. If you are mailing this directly to the recipient and note that this is a gift when selecting shipping options, you will have the opportunities to include a gift message (as you do with all shipped gift items). This message will NOT appear on the gift card itself; it will appear on the slip that they insert in the package.

You have the ability to purchase whatever you want. My credit union provides points every time I use my credit card. I have redeemed those points for gift certificates for Amazon.
