Farberware5209950 Cleaver Knife, 6-Inch, Black

If it says Farberware, I buy it. I've trusted that brand for years. I grew up in a Farberware house and continue the tradition with their pots and pans, utensils, etc. This knife doesn't let me down! It cuts straight and stays sharp.

Perfect as a little camping cook knife. Not good enough quality for home use, IMHO.

I received this as a gift and I ordered one. The larger knives are not that great, but the small one is the best.

I'm 71 years old and love to cook, but never owned a cleaver (still have all my fingers). I saw an ad in a magazine for a beautiful cleaver on sale for (just) $89 and went looking in Amazon to see what was available, assuming that I would be spending something around the sale price for the one in the ad. Low and behold, there were lots of beautifully hand crafted works of forged art, but none would fit in my knife block, and would get dinged up in a kitchen drawer. This inexpensive Farberware cleaver, with it's own sheath (with built in sharpener) just seemed to be the practical solution. I've made it this long without a cleaver, so it probably won't be my go-to cutting utensil, but who knows? It's well balanced and has a nice grip, and the sheath will protect it in a drawer... and me when I go pawing through the drawer for something. It's not hand forged with an impressive wood handle, but it'll do the job!

I have been shopping for a Santoku knife for some time now - and they can be very pricey. I decided to give this one a try as I have other Farberware knives that are amazing. This one did not disappoint either! Its quickly becoming my favorite knife and I love the sharpening case. Highly recommend!

Nice little knife, but if you are expecting really SHARP - this one didn’t meet my expectations.
