I HATE IT
This Book is literally Trash. The story Sucks. ITS SO BORING!! Theirs no climax. I hate story line! The Sci-if part of the story is horrible, it’s not interesting, suspenseful, or exciting. Why are their so many good reviews for this book, I’m really confused. I would not recommend this book to anyone, if I could rate it properly I would rate it a -5. I’m not joking.

I'm a slow reader, but I flew through this, I couldn't put it down. Even though it made me very cry like a baby at the end!!

And I've loved every single one
After discovering , I've been working through all of Holly Bourne's books. And I've loved every single one. Soulmates, however, I struggled to love like the rest. It was still an interesting read though.

But there's something more to this book than the fact that I actually genuinely loved Poppy. I don't know if it's the mix ...
The fastest way for a YA romance to be ruined for me is when I can't stand the protagonist—something that, unfortunately, seems to happen a lot. But there's something more to this book than the fact that I actually genuinely loved Poppy. I don't know if it's the mix of the classic first-love story with the darker, almost sci-fi twist running through it, or if it was for the host of wonderful characters, but I pretty much devoured this book. I only meant to read the first few chapters one night and suddenly I was 200 pages in and still pretty reluctant to put it down. One of my favourite YA books I've read in a long time. (A side note: I'm still processing how I feel about the use of mental illness as part of the soulmates affect thing... I might come back to talk about that if I figure out how I feel about it. Hm.)

Un-Put-Downable
Quirky, witty and deliciously British, Soulmates trumps every other YA book hands down. The characters are not only fierce and feisty but also relatable, vulnerable and totally believable. Every teen should add this book to their library.

Major Love
I’m kicking myself. Seriously. I’m bloody annoyed that I didn’t read this book when it was published back in September 2013. I’ve been glaring at it in Waterstones and WHSmiths for months on end, drooling over the seduction front cover but I’ve only just read it and guess what? I read it on Kindle. Bugger.Poppy Lawson is 17 years old and she does breathing exercises for 10 minutes every morning. She is surrounded by her three best friends; Lizzie – the budding journo, Amanda – the quiet, shy one and Ruth – the flirt with the big boobs. Poppy was 100% relatable in terms of her struggles in life and the challenges she faces on a day to day basis. Holly, the author, described her life in perfect detail and I was drawn right in.Noah – MAJOR swoon alert – is the male love interest to Poppy. Talk about ding dong! At first, he came across as a shy, closed off person but once the readers as well as Poppy get to know him, they fall head over heels in love with him. At first, I cringed a little at the choice of name. Noah is very well known for being a romantic male in the Nicholas Sparks novel, The Notebook and I deeply hope that Holly’s future readers picture a new Noah because they are both completely different. The .2 chapters are extremely interesting and at first, I had zero idea what was going on but as the plot thickens, it becomes very clear and I was automatically cheering Poppy and Noah on from the side lines. It was a giant puzzle at first but every now and then, Holly dishes out new clues.I hope Holly doesn’t mind me doing this but I really wanted to share my favourite part of the book: “But, I’ve got a loyalty card,” he protested. “And I’ve got enough stamps to get you a free coffee.” Ahhh, true love. I just loved the way Noah said it and it really did make me chuckle.I refuse to speak about the ending and Holly knows why. She’s broken my heart. That’s all I’m saying, but please do treat yourself to a copy because it’s the most unexpected book I’ve read in a while and it won’t disappoint one bit.

Love the writing style and (short-lived) love story
Loved the style of writing and the characters were diverse but instantly likeable and relatable. The question of soulmates and true love that is explored in this book was interesting and played out uniquely with the rather intense love story along side it. I really enjoyed the characters of Poppy and Noah (though personally I would have chosen a different name to that of the lead male in The Notebook, considering its mention in the book) and their love story was so beautiful, yet tragic.I felt the ending leaves you with a lot to be desired and let the overall story down, in my opinion. Leaves a slightly sour taste in the mouth I'm afraid.

Interesting concept
I read this book primarily because I'm interested in being represented by Madeleine Milburn, the literary agent for Holly Bourne, but also because the concept intrigued me. Even knowing that the soulmates couldn't stay together didn't spoil my enjoyment of the set-up to the big reveal. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to the know each of the characters and particularly loved the fact that the MC suffered from panic attacks, making her flawed. Her cynical approach to love struck me as a little too mature, but hey, teenagers are growing up a lot faster these days so I may be off base with that particular observation! I'm looking forward to Holly's next book.
