Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay Pen Cleaner, 2.0 oz

A drop of this on my dip pen completely dissolved the Dr Ph Martin's Black India Ink immediately. It also dissolved the ink on a calligraphy reed I used with the same ink. I just put some of the solution in a small clear ink well, dipped the reed in for a moment and then wiped it off on a cloth. I filled this with a water rinse and drying each time. No need to soak the pen or metal nib. Worked very fast. The only downside is the amount you get for the price - expensive. But worth it to keep the reeds and pens in top working order, and be able to switch colors cleanly.

Does a good job to clean pens

The ink had been on the nibs for several years and it cleaned them nicely.

I had some old fountain pens and speedball pen nibs from the 1970s (yes I am old), that I wanted to refurbish. So I used this to clean the nibs and other parts of the fountain pens that had old dried up ink. I had tried home solutions and ink out of some of the nibs, but then I saw this on a web site. It worked well on the things I had not yet tried to clean. On the things I had cleaned, it got more ink out. So I will always keep a bottle on hand!

I purchased the Bombay because I had previously used Bombay over 15 years ago. After soaking the nib of a Parallel Pen, in a small beaker containing Bombay Pen Cleaner, overnight, I was able to reassemble the Parallel Pen nib and it worked.

After trying for days to get ink flowing through my clogged fountain pen nib, I read about this product. It arrived today. I placed a small amount in a narrow glass, soaked the pen nib for about 15 seconds, held the nib under warm running water to rinse it clear and it was ready to use. It’s amazing how well this pen cleaner works. I’ll always keep it on hand in my desk.

Do not use Indian ink in your fountain pen. If you accidentally put the wrong ink in, rinse and soak immediately! Don’t let it dry. This product got lots of clogged stuff from my old pen too. E worth a try.

Of all the things I've bought for calligraphy, this is my favorite. My roommate couldn't figure out why I was so happy to buy "a bottle of soapy water". It's not soapy at all, by the way. It's just utterly perfect.

Good pen cleaner, goes quickly though as I found I needed to use quite a lot and the bottle is quite small.

Great for cleaning old ink from fountain pens. I've had a pen that I didn't keep clean and the ink dried inside, this solution helped me clean it out properly and I didn't need much of it to do the job.

The product looks good but there is no instruction for usage information.
