Tommy: My Journey of a Lifetime Hardcover – Illustrated, September 4, 2018

Fascinating book! Tommy is the greatest politician to come out of Wisconsin, if you like good politics and how bipartisan government leadership is most effective, read this book. Great leadership unites opposing viewpoints and parties, for outcomes that represent the most of our citizens. Stark contrast to todays brand of politics, where extremism is the rule not the exception, and we elect leaders that view compromise as a weakness and therefore the daily erosion of our democracy in this decade. Through his unrelenting work ethics and pragmatic style of leadership Tommy achieved so much for Wisconsin and our country s healthcare systems. We need new leaders like Tommy in our government. The greatest thing we can take from Tommy s story is what is possible with pragmatic leadership and hard work. The characters and family in this book are real and the biographer does a wonderful job bringing out their colors in the story.

I love the style and the read it provides. This not high literature, but almost no political bio is. The flow is good, and conversational makes for a great, swift read. It is important to note that auto-bios, almost by definition are self-serving, Tommy is careful to note in a number of instances, mistakes, second thoughts and regrets. He is a true Republican while I am not, but he is of a stripe in the GOP that has gone missing; someone who can deal across party lines. He came a long way from Elroy and I was pleased to watch him grow...and he continues!

I knew a lot about the former Governor of Wisconsin, but this book made me a raving fan of the man. He is and was so much more than just a Governor. I was absolutely astonished at the many things that he has accomplished in his lifetime. The great thing is, he’s still doing it. Read the book, you will not be sorry.

This is a great read....thanks to an incredible career in politics by a man who's been in love with his home state of Wisconsin his entire life. And Doug Moe's efforts are true to what he's always been able to do through his writing. If you're truly a "Badger" this book is a must read for you.

I found the book to be a very interesting history lesson regarding the career of Tommy Thompson. His can do attitude and hard work ethic are certainly to be admired. While I tend to vote more liberal I firmly believe he was one of our states best governors.

Governor Thompson has a remarkable career and he provides a detailed account of many interesting events. An enjoyable read especially for those with knowledge of State and University of Wisconsin history.

Exceptional! Must read for all in Wisconsin.How fortunate we were to have had Tommy as our governor.
