Cute little game
I picked up Piepmatz on a whim, as it was discounted and appeared under my recommended products. I love little birds so I figured the game will be pleasurable to look at at the very least. However, I got positively surprised as the game proved to be an excellent filler game. The rules aren't very complicated and the gameplay is quick once you know what you're doing. The art is gorgeous, and all cards are bilingual, with German and English names of the birds on each card. The objective is simple - to collect as many seeds, and as many pairs of birds as possible before the seed in the feeder runs out. While it may seem fairly straightforward, there is some strategic thinking involved, so the game may not be that interesting for younger kids. There is an element of counting involved, and so it may also not do that well as a party game. But if you do like to sit back and scheme a little bit while trying to outsmart your opponent, Piepmatz may provide that opportunity; it's equally fun and challenging without being overly complicated, and so does greatly in between bigger, more complex games. Recommended!

Lovely game
This is a good game to take on holiday as it's small. Beautiful artwork. A bit beige but gives off old school vibes.

Cut throat birdie fun
A fantastic little game of set collection and doing over your friends. Only played as a two player so far but loved it. Beware that this game can be really brutal, on the surface of it, on your first okay through you'll think it's a relaxing set collection game where you're building up your breeding pairs of birdies and seed, but if your opponent pips you to the post and gets the most of that species (easy done at the end of the game) your collection of greenfinches you've been working on is now worthless. I've never won this game yet, but I don't have a bad game even when I lose. It's great fun but you need to keep an eye on your opponent(s).

Excellent game. Great for 2 players + stunning artwork
This game is great! Very very easy to learn. Type in "how to play piepmatz" on YouTube and there are a few little 10 min vids on how to play. You will kick yourself with how easy it is. Personally instruction books always blow my mind anyway so always watch a few youtube vids when playing new games. The cards are gorgeous and very good thick quality. Box is lovely and sturdy. Art is beautiful. I play this with my husband and although "girlie birdies" wouldn't be his preferred theme...he actually really enjoys the gameplay. Easy to teach other's as well. A stayer in our game collection.

Played once. Nice theme, but modest gameplay.

Too complicated.
Terrible. Very complicated. We couldn’t work out how to use it. Three people just lost an hour of their life for nothing. We’ve now given up and I shall ask for my money back.
