I'm a huge fan of real ales, and though I like drinks from every range of the ale spectrum, I tend to be biased towards medium, deep-amber ales.I've only tried Old Golden Hen once before, and it was during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Let me tell you, this was one of the nicest, smoothest ales of this colour I've ever tried. An absolute treat, with a long finish and the taste of those galaxy hops slowly revealing itself to you amidst a sea of nectar-like barley.Alright, alright, let's not stray too far from reality here.This time around, some bottles from my 8-pack taste like a very average IPA. Not impressive for anyone looking for a smooth, malty yet refreshing ale. However, some are much as I remember it should be.Edit: Review updated to reflect presence of good and bad ale in the same 8-pack.

Fine but an aquired taste.
This is the odd one in the speckly lineup. A good sturdy beer but with a rather perfumed flavour that some will not take to. A fine beer none the less.

Nice tangy beer for summer at a good price...
Nice beer, on offer at £1 a bottle so no complaints here! Delivered well packed to your door for less than you'd pay elsewhere. Glad I tried it whilst on offer.

Short Quantity delivered and package had been tampered with.
Good product . Problem is short Quantity on delivery. How to report that without the lot going back unnecessary.
