A Course in Miracles: Text, Vol. 1

Ahhhh! I can't stop raving about how much I love the teachings of A Course in Miracles, and how much it's inspired my personal life to transform.I've read a lot of self-help books over the years. Books about changing habits, and utilizing exercise to "change your life." Books about "The Secret", and the power of positive thinking... all in an attempt to become the best version of myself, and reap real-life benefits. Though, these books have been somewhat helpful, they're lessons have never affected me on a personal level, and only temporarily influenced me to keep applying them.A Course in Miracles (audio) is that -hit-you-right-in-the-gut type of book. It's lessons require deep thinking, but simultaneously cling to your heart, and that's why I think this spiritual book is most useful.I purchased the audio in addition to the "pocket" sized manual (which is a standard 8x5) because I enjoy a mix of reading and listening. The narrator Jim Stewart speaks in an effective, paced manner that at times, made me feel like I was a college student learning from the most profound professor. And Amazon Audible is my top choice of platforms for audio because I could easily slow down Jim's lessons if I didn't understand something, or squeeze in a fast-paced reading session when I was on the run.I'd recommend A Course in Miracles audio, and print to anyone in need of real change. Learning to live life through the lens of love has decreased my anxieties, inspired me to be kinder, and more courageous. It's also helped me enjoy my precious time on our beautiful planet.

The "Course" is and invaluable spiritual classic for anyone who has reached a point in life where one wonders if there isn't a better way to deal with life. I first met the course in 1984 and keep coming back again and again. I'm more dedicated to this path now than ever. If you ever wondered how Jesus would teach in the context of the modern world, this is the book to read. I really like the navigation feature of the Audible version on my Kindle for bedtime use. I can select a chapter and set the sleep timer. If I wake up later and want to listen to some more, I can select the the same chapter again or maybe the next one. The Audible chapters actually correspond to sections in the Course, so each one is only a few pages. Unfortunately, they are not titled on the list--only numbered--still it works out pretty well. I already have books, MP3s, and tapes but this is a big improvement.

Just amazing, this book together with Joseph Benner's books are a must have for the individual that is ready to carry its cross up the mountain to TRUE success. Aligns with the bible teachings, very easy to understand for those who have followed Christ for some time. God is not limited and he will use many ways to communicate with His children, as we all learn in different ways.

I've read ACIM before. This is nice to listen to whenever I want to review it.

There were a few different iterations of this book to choose from, and not knowing any better, this is the one I chose. Cannot listen because of the narrator's voice and presentation.
