This device is what I have been looking for in the past.I have 500+ DVD discs which most of them are fitted into a Sony 400-Disc carousel DVD player. Although my Sony 400-disc carousel player can be stacked up to 1200 discs, but it is no longer a popular and widely available item; on top of that, it is pricey. (Sony DVPCX995V 400-Disc DVD Mega Changer/Player)I love this unit where I can just bring it with me while traveling or simply move from room to room instead of bring the bulky carousel player or my DVD binder case to flip through DVDs. I have tons of home gym workout exercise videos I often misplace them and have to look around the house before working out. Now everything is consolidated into a portable drive and no longer to have ripped onto backup discs that scattered everywhere.This unit also equipped with optical audio output which support kick ass for surround sound signal. At first, I used the RCA audio cable that comes with the box but sound was somewhat stat-icky (can't blame it, at this good price Monster Cable isn't included), but after I switched to optical audio hooked up to receiver and watching output to my 1080i screen, I am convinced that the quality is good enough to be integral part of home entertainment system.Navigation is simple and elegant. Its navigation menu is semi-PS3 style. You can configure it to either list-view or icon view in folder navigation. It can certainly be improved upon on look and feel of folder navigation. But, it's intuitive and get the job done.This device is not WiFi-enable, it says require dongle upgrade which is fine, but I wouldn't mind having that feature for a little extra cost.A plus bonus for me is I also use this device to make my extra 21" LCD monitor as picture frame, so I wouldn't have to bother spend $100+ on big digital picture frame.

If you want to watch stuff from your portable hard drive, it does the job.You need the newer tv, my parents have the old tv and it does not work.brought it for them, since they cannot use, i kept it for myself, did not bother to return.make sure is compatible with your device before purchasing.

with other better media players with better price in the market now, i must be out of my mind to make this purchase.the box design is ok, but don't be fooled by product pictures, it's actually made of cheap plastic. however, outlook is personal, the most unbelievable part is most of my mkv videos are not supported, not to mention blu-ray iso is not recognized at all. hfs+ hdd is not supported either. user interface needs to be improved a lot.the only good part is SD/MMC/MS Memory card reader located in the front, but this is not worth of $100 investment.

My first impression was that the unit is too light to be of decent quality, made of cheap plastic and too small to provide proper cooling. Back panel connectors seem to be of good quality but they are too close making it hard to pull out USB device without pulling out power cord.The front power button does not always respond - you push it once and nothing is happening. Unfortunately supplied remote control does not work and this is the most frustrating part of my test. I took the remote to best buy, geek squad could not test it but the guy did not see anything wrong with the remote. I bought new battery just in case original battery was bad, but it did not help.So I tried the touch screen located on top of this unit and navigated to my movie.Navigation is somewhat not practical and response is slow so it takes a while to learn it but you are never sure what is causing lack of immediate response.I started to set the player and changed several useful things like TV format and subtitles text size. I also wanted best picture quality and I changed display from default 720p to 1080p. When I saved changes my picture disappeared.No I did it - I managed the player not to show any picture. Now I recalled reviews of people reporting no picture at all when they turned the unit for the first time.I felt really stupid but I recovered very quickly - I had to blindly tap navigation buttons without seeing the menu to get back to settings and switch back to 720p - it worked - what a relief to see the menu again.Finally opening the movie folder made the player start my movie.And now comes the best part - picture quality is outstanding. I was really impressed - this was probably because I have never used HDMI cable before.I started to enjoy my high quality movie images and then I wanted to stop the movie.There was no way to stop playing except to turn the unit off.I still liked the player and I was searching the web for some help how to buy the remote.There is no support web site found and for that reason I have to return this player.

There are three things I like best in this product; one of which is that you can delete your unwanted movies or any files without connecting the device to a computer just by using the remote control, second that this media player also has a page by page control on the remote and so you don't have to scroll down like what you do in most similar product like this, and third, there is a volume and zoom control.
