Get it to "Get it"
It really isn't hard to use Google + so why read this book? I'd been using Google + for months when the book was published and I'm proud of my general Internet savvy, but I was very glad I read this book.Anyone can use Google +, but if you really want to use it to accomplish something, to build a network, to be heard, to have a voice, to be relevant, you need to understand all the tricks and tips that Jesse Stay provides in this quick-reading guide.Jesse tells you not only how to execute all of the tasks you might want to do on Google +, but he also explains why you might want to do it and what happens--both in the system and in the minds of other Google + users--when you do it.The writing is absolutely clear; anyone can follow the instructions. It was great to have everything explained. Yes, I already understood much of the content from the book, but it was great to fill in the gaps, putting what I did understand in a much clearer context. One clear audience for Jesse's book: Google. I suspect that they are listening, too, as the book offers some good suggestions for improvement (like filtering tools for the stream). So, whether you are trying to decide whether to join Google + or you are an experienced Google + user, you will enjoy this book and will be glad you read it.

Book is good. Google + is not so good
This is a solid performer in the genre of "xxxx for Dummies" books. Unfortunately, I discovered I wanted nothing to do with Google +. The book was helpful while I was trying to get into Google + and VERY helpful when I decided to back out.

Just Ok - Nothing Special Here
This book is quite small both in page size 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and in pages. In other words there is not that much in here that's really worth the money spent. If you have never set up a social media account it might be good for you, but most of this information and more can be got simply by googling Google+ for your business.I think one of the challenges is Google+ is not that in-depth. I mean Google has done a great job at trying to keep things simple - like they always do with their tech services and products. So there is only so much to say about the subject matter. You might be better off looking for a social media book that includes Google+ plus others social sites.I like most Dummies ( and Complete Idiot ) books and feel they are some of the best training books available on so many subjects. This particular one though seems light and lacking from what I learned i.e. not much. What you will get are fairly easy to understand instructions on setting up an account and using Google+ for personal and business. Not a book I can recommend buying - maybe check out your library to see if it is there.

Helpful for experienced and non-experienced Google+ users alike
This is an abridged version of a review that was initially published at [...]Stay, who has previously co-authored a book for Facebook users, has used the "Dummies" format to create a book that is primarily intended for users of existing social media services (such as Facebook), and is designed to help such users learn the ins and outs of Google+.However, the book also provides a refresher for experienced Google+ users, allowing them to catch up on things they missed when they first joined the service. For example, after reading the book, I made some adjustments to my Google+ profile, used the Share button for the first time, and "liberated" all of my Google+ data.Google+ is a constantly changing service, and any book on such a service is going to be outdated soon after publication. (For example, just after the book was published, Google finally allowed business pages.) Stay, and Wiley, account for such changes by providing a link to get updates to topics addressed in the book. The link, of course, goes to a Google+ page.
