Taste
I have bought other brands of beans and peas and found bits of shell and other stuff in with the content but never with Bush's. The purple hull peas taste great with cornbread.

Mmm, Mmm Good
We have a family friend who likes English peas. He's a nice guy but, in that respect, he is flawed. I have that opinion after 12 years of public school lunches. Pimento cheese sandwiches fall into that same abyss. (Along with tomato soup.)In my opinion, Bush's Purple Hull Peas are at the top of the pea heap. If they had been available in school, I wouldn't have skipped lunch almost every day. A few months back, I got the munchies around midnight. Heated a can of these peas (after adding a strip of bacon), broke out a couple of slices of white bread and had at it. Munchies eradicated.A little over a year ago, you couldn't find these fabulous peas in stores. A campaign was launched to determine the cause. Within a month, they were on Amazon but still weren't in the stores. One of the mainstays of American commerce (based in Arkansas) doesn't have Bush's Purple Hull Peas in stock right now. Why not? How foolish they must be!!Of the very few complaints about these peas, when the majority of them are about dented cans and a lack of availability in stores, Bush's must be doing something right on what they're putting inside those hard-to-find cans!
