I read volume 1 a year ago. This second part deals with Rothschild family history from 1849 to 1998.Niall Ferguson is a great writer, the research effort for these two excellent books must have been immense.From a modest start in the Frankfurt Judengasse of the 1780’s the Rothschilds went on to become the wealthiest and most powerful of the World’s banking families. They advised national governments and royalty. Through hard work, deserved trust and some luck they went on to determine the world gold price each morning and advised Heads of States about the costs and realism of war aims and investments.Highly recommended.

Please don't hesitate to read, very beautiful and insightful book about a Family's history. I have alot of respect for the hard work and dedication this family has gone through and what it is too today. A very good read.

Well written books that stays interesting throughout and covers, in detail, over 100 years of influence the Rothschild family had over finance and politics in the Western world.
