OGIOOgio Metro Backpack Color Noise Black/Gray

I have purchased this brand of backpack before and loved the quality! However, this time around was different. I bought another backpack for my son entering high school. I knew that the bag wouldn't be inexpensive, but I also knew that it would last. However now that my son is finishing his sophomore year, he showed me that the front zipper is totally busted. He is not especially hard on his backpack so it really surprised me. I won't be spending this kind of money on this brand again unfortunately.

This is my first Ogio product, although as a motocross fan I was long aware of the company as they sponsor many of the athletes. So far I am definitely impressed. The quality is very good, craftsmanship excellent. The color is even nicer in person as the gray/black looks sharp. First I will say that I did not get this for its laptop carrying ability, I got it for an everyday pack that I carry to work and anywhere I go. So it is with me pretty much daily. It has good capacity but is not a huge pack. It has a good variety of pouches. The laptop sleeve is roomy and if I do take my laptop anywhere I won't hesitate to use it. I did use it for folders and papers and it worked fine for that too. There is a long pouch on the LH side that works well to hold a water bottle. My 32oz Contigo barely fits in, but my 24oz fits easily, and I also fit 2 16oz bottles of Zico coconut water in there too with no issues. There are no external water bottle holders just that pouch, and I wish it was a little bigger for bigger water bottles but it is adequate for most. The front compartment has lots of space and organization options, and the main compartment is spacious. There is also a padded lower compartment which spans the entire width of the pack and can hold a decent amount. There are 2 other side pockets on the RH side, both are large enough for several smaller items. There are 2 smaller "media" pouches on the top, and both are quite small. I use the top one for my earbuds, and the bottom one for my phone charger. The only downside is that the lower small pouch hangs into the main compartment and sometimes gets in the way, I wish they'd tacked it back. But that is a nitpicking really, and that's the main thing about this pack. It is so good you have to nitpick to find something you don't like. What I like is that it has a lot of versatility you can find a place for everything. High marks for Ogio. Well done.

I had this exact same backpack in black. I LOVED IT. It has all the right compartments, in several sizes. HUGE inner compartment you can fit an entire outfit plus shoes in there or a bunch of books. Whatever. Then you still have the smaller zippered areas to hold whatever else you need. There are actually two places you can stow your laptop or tablet. There is the external zippered compartment on the back side. Or there is a special pocket inside the large inner compartment where you can put it. ANYWAY -- the black version of this backpack was stolen out of my car and I JUST HAD TO HAVE the same backpack again. This time I got it in a different color and when it arrived I LOVED IT. Get this bag!!!!!

This backpack has so many great features, unfortunately, it also has one glaring design flaw that ruins it all. The grab handle (handle at the top) is in a terrible place that makes this backpack really uncomfortable because it presses against your neck. I had to send it back.

Sturdy so far! The main pocket feels larger on the inside than it should be. Zipper pockets are handy and in easy to access spots.

I have had mine for 11 (yes, 11!) years, and it only recently is showing some wear in the fabric that separates the little pockets within the pack itself. I am repurchasing this because I want another. The only qualm I have is that it's not totally waterproof. I am going to spray mine down with waterproofer though this time. Everything else about it is perfect, though! The fact that every pocket zips close with no thief-friendly mesh for your water bottle makes it perfect for travel too. Nothing lasts anymore- this does.
