I love this reel--I'm new to centerpinning so I can't compare it to the expensive name brands but it sure does the job for me. The stock bearings spin freely and the start up for a drift seems effortless. I saw a video for a bearing upgrade and bought two hybrid ceramic radial bearings. The whole procedure took less than 5 minutes. They cost almost what the reel did but now the spin is truly amazing. The reel has a great finish and appears to be made to precise specs. Like it so much, I ordered another one--the price went up $4.00--still worth it!!!

I've been wanting to try center pinning for a while but couldn't afford the costs. This reel is a good starter. It's very smooth and well balanced. I bought it and the ceramic bearing upgrade. The new bearings made a huge difference. I can't wait to try it out.

Does the job and is of decent quality. Spins freely and will last. Caught very large fish on this with no problems.You need to set expectations for how much you pay for a cheap center pin. Blew my expectations out of the water. Way higher quality than expected, great entry level center pin. Only complaint would be that it is a rather small diameter, but that is stated in the product description.

Real seems to be pretty decent for the price. The upgraded bearings make a big difference. Reel did come missing the clicker to stop it from free spooling though which sucks

Well made and machined reel. Very smooth operation. The clicker however does not stay firmly set in the off position. With a slight touch it will rotate to click position.

This reel feels great in the hand and looks nice. everything functions as it should out of the box.Pros:1. Looks good2. cheap3. Great starter reel for someone getting into pinning4. Simple construction allows for easy fixing if something does breakCons:1. startup is not great2. bearings could be better, however, you can buy upgrades3. Line gets caught in reel --> The way the spool is mounted on the reel creates a decent gab between spool and back plate. I have had at least one time per trip where line somehow gets in this gab and gets tangled in the inside of the reel/spool/clicker. This requires you to remove the spool (one philips screw) and untangle line each time4. clicker quality is under par --> a piece of the clicker broke on my reel making it unusable, however I was able to bend it so that it was still useable5. clicker mechanism switches on too easily --> I have had times were I am in the middle of a drift and the clicker bumps back on, ruining my drift6. storage case/bag is junk --> doesn't come with the nice neoprene cases that most pins typically do. The bag it comes with is pretty useless. Doesn't work well when reel is mounted on rod and is pretty thin (won't protect the reel from much)Overall, this reel is a steal for $40. Especially for someone just getting into centerpin reels and is on a budget. Don't break the bank with a $200 reel and then find out you don't like it. Start here, work your way up.

Good value for the money but purchase replacement bearings if you want this to really spin like a center pin should. For 30 bucks you can put replacement bearings in that will last forever and really make this baby run awesome. I would buy it again in a second.
